You're a saint Hal. Pinion bearing is shot, they put the wrong gears in there, and there are parts laying in the bottom of the housing... "maybe it won't be too bad"
Well Hal I guess one way or another that tech really stuck it to your rear end and left you high and dry so to speak.
Buttoned back up. Still making noise, maybe spiders, clutches, who knows. Back on the rack. Cam picked me up and brought me back too.
What was the guy smoking when he did the install??? How in the hell does something like this happen? Unreal.
Holy hell Hal!!!!! sorry to hear!! Mmmmmm. Denny's!!! <<<<<< yes he likes to eat there... nuf said.
Made it to San Diego about 3:30PM today. Got the car about 11:00PM last night. John drove back to shop to get his car. Picked up a screw in the left front. Tire was almost flat when we got back to the shop. John changed it for me. Had to get up this morning and find someone to fix the flat an re-install. Got back to the room about 11:00am. The redo required some shimming that hadn't been done correctly. Factory uses a carbon fiber shim, none was there. John didn't have the right thickness, so he used an old style that was thicker than needed. Now the Mustang drives like it has a spool and sounds like an old wooden ship creeking under stress driving slow or turning. But going down the road it's perfect, no noise, no backlash noise or feel under deceleration. John said it might take up to 300 miles to break-in and not make so much noise. My appointment I missed from Monday is now scheduled for Wednesday at 10:30AM. Was only charged for parts on the diff repair, and tire repair was free. Cam sure has some great contacts. Thanks again Cam. I will be doing a better thank you thread later. We need to head out to have dinner with my sister-in-law and neice.
Seems to me you should be getting all that on paper and whoever put in the 3.73's (which turned into 3.55's) should be picking up the whole bill?
Got home about an hour ago. Diff is making less noise when turning and backing up, still no noise going straight down the road. Looks like we have a winner. Meeting went well with new client yesterday. Ended up being there from 10:00AM to about 4:00PM. We decided to stay over again last night due to traffic issues and me being so tired because I woke up at 2:45AM, and never went back to sleep. Home for 2 weeks and then off to Victorville for another new account. Things are starting to look a little better than last year.
Especially Cam. I mean, the guy went out and bought a fender roller... think about all the people you know who own a fender roller.
