Just in case we have a disconnect here on abbreviations... What do you mean by "ETC"?
I assume you mean Engine Trouble Code?
Of which most will turn on the Check Engine Light?

We use "PCM" for Powertrain Control Module (this would be what Kraftwerks flashed with your tune) and
    "TCM" for Transmission Control Module.

Any number of things might trigger something like "Can bus disturbance". I'm guessing that bad CRCs - Cyclic Redundancy Check (corrupted data/bits in messages), framing errors, maybe voltages going out of bounds, etc... "noise" or "static". Something could be generating that sort of thing actively or it could be the result of a bad connector creating "static" on the bus. I think that's the root cause of your problem.

The battery drain is most likely separate from your bus disturbance problem. Completely independent. I don't see any reason to believe the two are connected.

shall I switch out the cam bus on the radio for grins, do you think its the guts of the key fob I have at the ignition, this is to trick the remote start, the supplied key fob box with cooper wire you wrap around the cylinder never worked, but I had this setbup for over a year with no problems

I have no idea. But it's more likely that aftermarket installed stuff is causing the problem than factory stuff. I would start disconnecting aftermarket stuff that is connected to the bus and restore the factory connections to isolate the problem.

Since it just happend to show up after the car was in the shop I would start with connections that were in the vicinity they were working around if there are any. It might not have anything to do with the car being in the shop and the problem just happened to pop up at the same time.

I think it's pretty much throughout your car. It's twisted pair wiring. Not sure if it's seperately shielded or not.
Pretty much everything is on the CAN bus. Your sunroof control module up in the roof with the sunroof motor is on the CAN bus. Think of it like wired ethernet in the car.

    On the battery drain issue:

For our cars the ignition-off drain should be between 0.005 and 0.035 amps (I'd expect yours to be the same).
They expect the car to be able to sit with the ignition off for about 20 days.

But then you have to factor in your aftermarket stuff. I have all kinds of active car alarm sensors so I'm not sure what the current draw is but the car can only sit for maybe 5 days.

    Hi
Good news they found the drain fault by tracking it down using the fuse pull method, will know what it was Monday:)

one week an no problems, turned out it was the extra heater unit in the fuse box, none were blown but once they were pulled # 1,2 an 3 the drain stopped, replaced the fuses back in an all has been reset (I assume) because now the car does not go into ETC mode an runs fine an no drain

    Well, that's good :)

but can't help but wonder how the battery drain went away by pulling and replacing a fuse...?
