Yep, leaving today!! Me and the family are making our yearly trek to Missouri to visit with my father and my brothers at his lake house. Jet skiing, boating, fishing, quads, etc. Lots of fun......this year we diecided to make a stop on the way and visit Elvis!! Never been there, but I will get to experience one of our countries "landmarks" tomorrow !!!! We will be heading out of Orlando in a couple of hours!! Elvis, here we come!!! :worthy: lol .....and no, the charger will not be making the trip, she will be safe and sound in the garage!! lol

Nice trip... Memphis..I grew up there. Graceland was only 6 miles from my house. Saw Elvis a few times, friendly and really down to earth sort of guy (this is before he started Vegas). Home of some of the oldest and best known performance parts builders....RHS (Racing Head Service), Lunati Cams, Comp Cams, BTE racing transmissons....to name a few. Also GREAT barbecue.....The Rendevous for ribs or pork chops, Interstate Babecue for anything else, yum. ..
we are heading home tomorrow from my dads lake house near springfield missouri. i think we are going through nashville on the way home. not sure where you are in relation to that! I DID!! drove through birmingham at about 10pm last tues night! saw a poor guy in a cts caddy plow into a wall on a very sharp turn on the freeway going through downtown!! some funky freeway turns in the downtown area!! :erm:
I am about 270 miles east of Nashville....Graceland is in the extreme lower west end of TN....Nashville is right in the middle of TN....why are you coming thru Nashville??...
wife wants to try a different way home???? trust me, i kinda wondered the same thing....lol some things you just do not argue....lol
Real easy directions from Nashville to my office.....get on I-40 east then I-81 north....get off at exit 59....turn left and go about 200 yds then turn right and here you are...:welcome:...........just in case you want to take the scenic route....I-40 will take you thru cumberland plateau....beautiful views from way up.....
If I were coming from Florida headed up to Misery..uh Missouri, I'd cut thru Alabama and Mississippi, maybe a side trip thru Tuscaloosa (I have family there and that's where I started life) and a stop over at Rowan Oak in Mississippi. But then I dig William Faulkner. Nashville's out of the way, unless you like checking out places post-flood and crazy aggressive head up the rear traffic. Did I mention I grew up near there? Either way, have a fun trip and drive careful. Oh and if you haven't been to Graceland...its a trip! I'm sure it was the sh*t at the time but now its like a total time capsule...wall to wall shag carpet, wood paneling, the works.

time capsule is the perfect way to describe the place!!! was pretty neat sitting there looking at the mansion and thinking this is where the King hung out! because my car would never be able to fit all the crap that my wife and kids bring with them every year we make this trip to see my father and brothers!! lol
