Just installed my new Mopar Lowering springs. hadn't driven it hard yet. so i was a the light a civic rev's on me so i thought sure ill go for it... dropped the hammer and all I got was tire smoke... no wheel hop. tired it a few more time not a bit of wheel hop? Am I crazy? I have prothane inserts and thats it. what gives. stock springs = wheel hop. Lowering springs = no hop? has this happend to anyone else. I will say my wife's 04 PT GT Stage 1 has no wheel hop either... H&R lowering springs and inserts.
^ Really! If I remember she is modded more than me, and I have inserts and still get wheel hop with my stock suspension...biggest reason I want my coil-overs back. EDIT: Wait a minute, Nevin your wifes cruiser has traction control right...LOL!
Ok revision..... I still have wheel hop. once I get my Yokohama's hot they are really sticky and wheel hop like crazy! Hello solid tranny mount!@!
I wheel hopped like crazy and broke a driveshaft. Coilovers, stiffest setting in the rear, newer Prothane LCA bushings, solid torque struts and tranny mout, Hotchkis sport suspension. Due to street tires with a ton of tread... And too much throttle in the low gears of course.
modern performance now has tranny inserts for the neon. but sad thing is they dont work on an automatic hint hint PT/GT
what the hell is traction control it still spins the tires with it on or off. even with it off not a problem. its because the PT is so damm heavy. :magic:
go with sway bars and strut bars as well. Big turbo also helps Ha I had wheel hop so bad when i had my red srt...it cracked my dash
the last time i had wheel hop bad i let off untill it settled down then continued. too bad it was on national TV 2 yrs ago.
