Ah, the great Land of Enchantment. Miss those blue skies, skiiing, water rafting, motorcycling, hiking, etc., etc... Lived in Los Alamos from '92-'98 ---Wife's from Espanola ---God I miss that red/green chile at Gardunos in Santa Fe........ridin' the crotch rocket from Los Alamos up through Taos on to Eagles Nest / Raton, 4-corners...... Bandalier National Park........Balloon Festival......ah caramba----we're not far away though --Dallas, Texas. Maybe I'll retire there..... I know you all love us Texans rolling through there all the time....... LOL.......Sorry, hi-jacked thread. Bringing back great memories. Been too long since we've been back...... greg
Yeah, it's like a relationship gone bad, all you remember is the good times. What about the stickers and goatheads and the pebble sized boogers that you have to unlodge with a stick?
Ok, I did have a flashback there reading your response. Especially remember having each day to coat my body head to toe with lotion---man, it was beyond dry. Also, remember being told at the local supermarket (Smiths) that "if you don't like the prices...go to Sante Fe" (34 miles away). Ah, the joys of having a monopoly and charging $8/bottle of saline for contact lenses, etc., etc. Ah, the smell of burning pinon every day got a little rough too. I guess I left at the right time as several years later---the house I sold was ablaze...... Oh well, I did meet my beautiful wife---2 kids later, still very rusty on my spanish--but we've got a lifetime for this 'guerro' to figure it out Take care!
