Today Ben (intimid8r) came by to get his LMI True CAI!!! This unit will be a new option for the those that want a full 4" intake from filter to the throttle body. Instead of utilizing the 3.5" filter and flange that fits the existing hole in the fender well, for those that do not mind doing some small cutting, the hold is enlarged to a full 4.25" and edged with a very clean rubber moulding to clean things up. This allows for a full 4" cf tube with a 45* angle built in to mount the filter!! Very clean set up and now no reductions in the intake tract! This was my original mock up...... it will give you the idea of the new 4" angled tube to go down through the fender well. This is the first actual install of the full 4" True CAI on Bens SRT Magnum 4" cf tube and filter 4" opening from top side. very clean and simple. you can see the cleanly edged enlarged hole as well as the location of the relocated IAT sensor. Final product!!! I want to thank Ben for allowing me to use his car as a guinea pig. The install went pretty smooth and pain less. One thing I did realize is that I need to source a 4" grommet where the down tube goes through the body. This will help keep the intake from moving excessively. Other than that, everything else was spot on!! The full 4" kit will remain the same price as the standard True CAI, at 324.99 plus shipping! All anyone will have to do is specify if they want the full 4" True when they place their order!!! Oh yeah.........WELCOME TO THE LMI FAMILY BEN!!!
nice R&D there chris, just keep making them bigger and better. i wish i lived closer so you could use my car as a guinea pig. lol
thanks guys!!! chase - yes and no....... the only difference from yours is the point where it goes through the hole in the fender. yours has the standard 3.5" metal flange mount for the filter. this set up uses a 4" cf tube with a built in 45* angle that goes down through the enlarged hole, to mount the filter. your set up requires no cutting on the car. this set up requires a small amount of cutting.
Wow, thats killer!!!! I want one:smart: how far down does the sensor mount ? Edit: Opps..... I went back, missed where you said it but I see it now
let me know when you want to try a LMI fender mount system dan.... i have them in stock and ready to ship!
These are Incredible; seen 'em in person at the Shindig and even watched while one was installed ourside our room on the back of the hotel!
