Some of you may remember all the problems I have had with the brakes on my 06 Mag SRT... anyhow at 7,065 miles the dealership replaced my brake pads as the car was chattering when appling the brakes... Shortly afterwards, I started getting this terrible squeal upon any braking and kept complaining... they would only spray on brake quiet, which lasted for only a few minutes. Finally I called the owner of the dealership and said I was VERY unhappy with what the service dept was saying and NOT doing for me. Met with customer relations manager ~ who was an idiot ~... he told me I only had this problem 'cuz I let the car sit too much!!! Yeah, it does sit alot... won't drive it in the mud when it rains on our dirt road. He called one of his technicians and he looked and said, "Hey, I know this guy and he takes impeccable care of his car"... looked at the brakes and said "The rotors are shot; see how grooved they are?". So the guy calls another technician and told him to take a ride with me and see IF I was correct that something was wrong. The 2nd guy told him when he inspected them the exact same thing... and he made me take the tech for a ride..... I pulled out of the bay went around back of the garage and applied the brakes.~ A HUGH SQUEAL like that of a school bus or something!!! He said "FORGET IT ~ THOSE BRAKES ARE SHOT!!!" Anyhow, they finally agreed to give me all new "Slotted Rotors" and brake pads and replace all the brake fluid for FREE! My 06 Mag had 8,664 miles on it then! NOW.... I'm finally Happy ~ so far NO SQUEAL!!! Took these two pictures this morning.... Then after FOUR HOURS... took these two pictures of new rotors and pads...
I remember getting slotted rotors under warranty for the 06 Charger SRT8 I had....If I remember correctly the factory replaced the rotors with slotted ones up to 18K miles.......dont remember if there was a time limit...
I remember it being 11,000 miles. Most of us got replaced under the TSB. Carolina Magnum - Glad to hear your dealer stepped up!
It did upset me that I had to argue for almost TWO years for them to finally step up and they probably still wouldn't have done it had I NOT called the dealership owner! Of course, NOW CAN'T DRIVE IT! Raining here and our road has turned into MUD again ~ Geesh!
