Well I now know what exactly caused the LC-1 Controller (A/F controller) to melt...

Looks like Techco (yup, lol They are now just as BAD as GSM) let the LC-1 fall against the header and melt. They did, however, move the controller away from the header before I picked up the car last year. Was really nice of them to do this *add sarcasm here*.

Anyway, after I removed the old controller, I checked all the wiring and did not see a single burnt wire, so I know there is not a short somewhere. whew...

I also included a picture of my 4 year old O2 sensor for the Wide Band. haha This sensor has been through 3 motor catastrophes and running extremely rich as well. Thought you guys would like the laugh. haha No wonder I was getting 4 different errors from my A/F gauge? lol

It took nearly a year to go bad, so I really am impressed with the over all quality of the Innovate LC-1.

Oh yea, I was reading the instructions on calibration, and Innovate recommends that the O2 Sensor should be free air calibrated every few months as the sensor will start losing its settings after time... Good info that I never knew.

That's right...I have never done mine...I better do that since I am setting my shit up for altitude this week-end. Let's see, I can't even find my lug nuts for my DRs...what are the chances I can find my Innovate instructions? lol

Thanks sugar pants. I have a new O2. I bought that first, then when I went to install it, found that the LC-1 Controller was melted. ;)

Maybe they did that so the connector wouldn't come loose.

Ron I have some heat wrap from second skin if you want to try it next time, I wrapped up Spencers A/F and Cut Out wires in it becuse the headers were so darn close and it seems to be working.

Ron figured he'd actually try strapping it to something this time.

Thanks, no heat wrap is needed as where I have it mounted, now, is no where near the header and will never come in contact even if the straps break. :)

    I despise half ass workmanship.

Glad you caught it before a fire..YIKES! Coulda been serious dude, once that plastic catches, it's really hard to put it out.

Innovate makes top notch stuff...had a LC1 in my old truck, worked flawless.
