Back in 03-04 my father had his first heart attack, it was a major one taking with it a large portion of his heart function. A year later he had another one doing a little less damage but still pretty sizable. After each one they placed a stint in to prolong his life. Back in about December he went in for a stress test, and shortly after ran a dye through him. Found a sizable blockage so they scheduled him for an angioplasty on the problem. Once in the discovered a blockage of 95% and moved forward with a stint. The stint appeared to immediately improve everything until about 2-3 weeks ago with a followup exam showing the blockage is back and his heart is functioning even less. Before the last surgery we were given our options, 1 see if they can angio it open, if that doesn't work stint, if that doesn't work bypass. Well as you can tell there is a good chance for a bypass. He is scheduled for Thursday (April Fools day I know this is no fucking joke) And to be quiet honest I am scared shitless! My grandfather died shortly after his bypass, and not because the bypass failed, but because his heart just could not take it anymore. My father is in a similar situation where at the last rating over a year ago he is was sitting at about 1/3 of his heart still functioning as it should. My father is a good man! He had been a teacher his entire career, 25 years with APS and now 11 year at Menual School. For all he gave up for his 2 sons, and the children of others he deserves a chance to retire and enjoy some of his life without living day to day worrying about if he will live or having to go to work the next day. So please say a little prayer tonight for my father, just so he will have the chance to enjoy some form of retirement, which he desperately needs to take. Thank you all for considering my request and please please please say just a small prayer for David Mains. Chris
Chris, You KNOW that Maureen and I have your dad in our Prayers. Hang in there Chris, your Dad needs all the strength he can get from you and your family. If you need ANYTHING, you know where to find us. Any time of day or night, buddy. Love ya.
Prayers and positive thoughts being sent out to your Dad, you and your entire family. Know that we love you, Chris. If there is anything we can do for you, let us know!!
Chris, you and your family have had more that your share of bumps in the road. I said a prayer for you and yours as soon as I read this. Your dad deserves better and I hope and pray he can enjoy a long and happy retirement. Cindy and I send our love and prayers.
We're hoping for the best Chris. My dad had a couple of bypasses 25 and 30 years ago. They're a lot better at doing those now.
Two things in life I know to be true. 1.) My daughter is an evil genius 2.) mains's are stubborn as hell and only do what they want when they want to. Your dad is in good care and should pull through so he can retire and relax. Lemme know if you need anything or if you need a distraction/laugh while I try to fix my eff up'd grille.
Thank you all! Today my dad took a trip to Santa Fe and ate at his favorite place (Tomasitas) I was unable to join him I have been working on a project at Tax and Rev, and I didn't know they planned on being up there. I am freaking out on the inside! Showing strong infront of my mom and dad, because I know my dad is scared shitless.
I don´t pray, but I´m sure sending a warm thought to you and your dad, I don´t envy the situation and I know it would tear me up. Hang in there, think possitive and listen to the doctors as I´m sure you all do! Fredrik:flowers:
