Thought some of you guys may be interested in this.. It's the 2010 Samuel Hubinette Racing Dodge Challenger that will compete in Formula Drift this year.
I saw Samuels posts on FB. KICK ASS, Brad. How was tech yesterday? The new motor? What's up with the rear suspension? Still on the down low? I am really digging the new paint scheme as well. Congrats and good luck this season. Give me a buzz when you have a chance.
Tech went very well. No real issues to fix. The new engine is sick. 410 c.i. all aluminum Mopar. Built by Gary Meier at ITI Performance Motorsports. 865 hp/685tq. Will turn 9500 rpm all day long . The rear suspension took alot of engineering, and a long time to work out. I was trying to keep it from being copied as long as possible. We have to use the stock suspension pick-up points on the chassis side, but can fabricate everything else. So, we built everything from scratch. The only stock piece is the rear lower control arm between the inner mount and the spring bucket. We essentially got rid of the funky 5 link set up, and made it into upper and lower a-arms with a toe-link. All of the rubber bushings and balljoints have been replaced with spherical bearings and heims. There is absolutely no binding or bumpsteer in the rear end now. I really dig the new livery as well. The Viper will look similar, but reversed (red in front, black in rear). I can't wait to get it all together and start burning tires again!
WOW, certainly some serious fabricating... :worthy: Can't wait to see some vids with her in action. Well done, Brad. Well done.
This isn't a Hemi.. It's a sprint car engine. Mopar A8 block and W9 heads. It does have Jesel shaft rockers. The valves, keepers, and retainers are Ti. It has big Eibach valve springs to keep everything where it's supposed to be...
