Posted on LXF by Paxton..... http://www.lxforums.com/board/showthread.php?t=209838 I run the same spacers and I am a little weary after seeing this and noticing a bit of oil consumption myself as of late!
Interesting. I'm going back to stock. Looks like that deformation could interfere with air flow and affect peformance (that and the oil consumption issue too)
i run 2 sets of these spacers (one between the cylinder head to the nitrous plate and one between the plate to the intake manifold) and have not had any problems. i just had may intake off 2 weeks ago and they looked great.
Wasn't it BT or someone that developed thermal spacers made out of Unobtainium or something undisclosed? They were prototyped, tested or in testing, and just waiting on the patent or something like that?
Interesting. Wonder if the Stack spacers are the same material. They are on my list of future mods....
i could see it happening if the bolts were to loosen up. i run im intake bolts tighter then the factory spec. the factory gaskets have a rubber o-ring seal and do not need to be as tight.
As a matter of fact it was They were tested by Cam(CTP) and worked pretty darn well.Problem was the material was a little pricey. Im not sure how that could be,In the past every intake that I have found w/losse bolts the car ran like poopy.
and his was or had rough idle. IDK kinda coin toss, did the gasgets go bad due to the manifold bolts not being torqued down well enough???
He said that his car was running like poopy... I think this is an isolated incident? Of course I will most certainly keep this in the back of my head as I have these exact spacers on. I would also venture to think something else is going on with his motor? It takes a LOT of heat to warp those spacers. Just sayin...
Ah man, I just purchased and they are in the mail. This could be a waste of good mod money. Will wait to see if Bwoody step in with any information.
I also run these and have had no noticeable problems as of yet. I checked my intake bolts torque a few days ago and they were all right on.
You think there's anything to what Mol said about maybe they need just a little more since they don't have the rubber "o" rings?
pretty much the comment i made over on lxf in the original thread...... i checked mine and i do not see any issues with them......things had to be getting a little toasty for that to happen imo.....
I'm running these on mine. Much thicker then others out there. http://srtconnection.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=2492&stc=1&d=1269085040 http://srtconnection.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=2493&stc=1&d=1269085040
