John and Zack really took care of me with this order. I purchased a carbon fiber diffuser from Stack Performance earlier in the month which is made of a square or "plain" weave instead of a standard twill carbon. I called CBD and talked to the guys about making a hood to match. A week and a half later it showed up at my door Packaging was extremely well done, lots of bubble and secured in the box. The hood is absolutely stunning, the weave is massive and the laminate looks a mile deep. Check it out...
sexy  You gonna leave it CF or do some sort of paint work to it, only keeping part of the CF exposed?
I'd get some hood pins on that ASAP! You might not like em',but it's better than the hood suddenly smashing into the windshield.
I was gonna ask CBD about that... are they absolutely necessary? I was going to get the flush mount ones if thats the case.
Hood will flex at speed. Unless you're sure it's more rigid than stock and that the hood latch is reinforced into the hood better than stock I think it's best to assume that you're dealing with a tarp with a tie down at the hood latch...
I have yet to see a CF hood that didn't need them.....watch your hood as you drive, bet it scares you once you realize how much movement and lift there is.
Yeah...Im convinced. Im going to get some Aeroforce pins and get them in early this week. I have a lot of miles to put on it before then but I'm thinking some painters tape to keep the wind from getting up in there from the nose until I get the pins in.
I'd say keep your speed reasonable and an eye on the hood. Check where the latch bar is attached occassionally to check for stress too. I'm not sure but I believe the wind that's getting up in there is what's coming in through the radiator... don't want to tape that up.
Right now the belly pan is off so hopefully that relieves a bit of the pressure too if air can escape from bellow.
Actually that creates more pressure under the hood. The belly pans will help to somewhat create a vacuum.
There is also the wing effect of the air going over the top of the hood... basically, there is just a crap load of forces trying to lift/push your hood off the car oh:
CBD should use those pics you took for their ads. Great hood, and amazing photos. I noticed today that the stock hood on my car moves enough to make me uncomfortable at anything over 100mph...
