ok so i am havin trouble with my skittle....i have to drive it in the winter its my only car...i go out to start it up to warm up before i have to leave for work the other day and come back inside...a few minutes goes by and i hear it die...i say wtf and run out...she starts back up just fine....it did this two days in a row...now she will start and run fine but when she gets warmed up the fuel pump wont prime (it wont die anymore while running)...i have to turn the key on and off like 6-8 times...i checked the cel and got P0627-fuel Pump Relay Circuit so im thinkin maybe bad relay...i pop the hood and notice that all the relays look the same so i swap the fuel pump one with the horn...she starts right up.....but still the same problem with no primeing when she gets warmed up...ie when i get to work and shut it off...fip[ the key back to acc and no pump prime....i have done the fuel pump re-wire with a relay under the car....just not sure y that relay would throw a check engine light since its wired directly to the altenator........any input would be greatly appreciated....ohhh i am also thinkin it could be the pcm...???? i replaced the coil pack...wires...and plugs and she still has a miss but its not steady..but ive noticed from some locals that a lot of them do it..not just mine..

It could be a bad ground, check all of the ground wires.

I bet the relay is bad. (If its not a solid state relay) Relocate the relay for the fuel pump rewire to the trunk. Thats where mine is.

You live in a state that has crappy winters, so I could see that happening. Get your car in a garage and check out your wiring. Also check out the fuse on the fuse holder thats right by the alternator.

Like what kingnate said, it could also be a bad ground too..

Yeah that would suck... You packed the fuse holder with dielectric grease? Hmmm I never thought about doing that.

Definately relocate it to the trunk man. Here is a pict of mine:

I am in Kansas and we had one of the worst winters to date... glad I put it there in the first place.

well its stil crappy weather here in illinois so i just climbed under her and wired it back to stock...and soldered it...i havent had a problem since so its either the ground or the relay...when it gets nicer out i might try for another rewire....thanks for the ideas guys....zack

i packed it with dielectric grese cause the last rewire i had corroded out on me and left me stranded...and now the 2nd rewire is actin up...maybe 3rd time is a charm....lol i really want it done though...she runs so much stronger and harder with it on there so there is some sort of benefit from a rewire...
