I recntly moved to ABQ and I could tell my car was not quite right, boggy off the line and right after shifting. Understandably so being tuned at 600 feet elevation on 93 octane gas in Ohio. ABQ is 5500 feet and the best gas you can get is 91 octane with 10% minimum ethanol. In Ohio on a dynojet I made 386/387 on a hot motor with a DA of 1850. I pulled into Hellion and did 360/370 on the first pull. Dave said I was getting knock and after about 6 pulls of tuning the car made 370/380, we didn't do a cool down run because I had to get going. The DA was 5900. No more knock retard or hesitation through the powerband, car definitely runs better. Not nearly as fire breathing and tire peeling as it was in Ohio, but much much better! The dyno output is "adjusted" so I think it should read relatively equal to others around the country. We specualted on what to attribute the difference to, could be different roller diameters, could be because of the less potent gas, could be that the car is approaching 50k miles. Regardless, Hellion is a high-class operation, very nice shop with nice people and I really feel like I had quality work done. Old Ferrari in the lobby, lots of sweet cars in the shop including a twin turbo Challenger SRT8 that I was told I would get a ride in tomorrow. I would highly recommend them to anyone in the southwest looking for a CMR tune, I believe Dave is one of the only CMR tuners in the region BTW. Eric
Thanks Eric! It was a pleasure. Very cool and clean 300c. I appreciate customers who take pride in their cars. The TT SRT8 should blow your mind regardless of elevation. Thanks again, we look forward to working with you in the future. (Let's get you the power to blow away some 'vettes! :zorro -Dave
Sorry I didn't make it out, Erik. I WILL be there tomorrow though. Yup, Dave at Motiva/Hellion is the only CMR tuner in 600 mile radius. Certainly worth the drive out to have Dave do some CMR tuning though. Dave has been diligently assisting me with my emissions tuning. Once done with that, it is on to some CMR tuning.
