I had BMC install Bill's StageII Valve Body, a Quaife, and BBs Axles and the car is running great. The shifting is crisp and hard, seems perfect for the track....... but I do have a question.

I have probably driven the car around for about 300-400 Miles on the new Valve Body and had two strange incidences which both happened with about the same set of circumstances......

I would be driving down the road with the tranny in auto, the RPMs would be low and the car would downshift from 3rd into second gear (Under some braking). The downshift seemed hard for how low the RPM range was...... at that point the car would go into a weird type of limp mode. I would hit the gas and nothing would engage...... I would slow the car down and when I would get to about 5 miles per hour, it would go back into gear and drive fine. Everytime I have ever gotten the car into limp mode, I would either have to put the car into park or shut if off and then back on again. I am not sure if what Im experiencing is a limp mode vs something else.

Since then I have been driving around with the car in stick mode and its been flawless...... it seems when I can control when I up shift or downshift, the car and tranny seem fine. I have also reinstalled the tune thinking it could be adaptives or something like that but the second time occured after the tune was installed.

I just wanted to throw this out there and see if anyone else has had this happen.........

yeah, I knew the shifting would be hard....and quite frankly, the Valve Body is very impressive. In action, its one hell of a performer........

I guess I wasn't sure if what I was experiencing was a limp mode or signs of a different problem

Hey at least your car now selects the lowest gear possible to get you ready to take off but I agree call Bill if you not happy or have concerns I know Bill will step up and make you happy.

Well, overall Im very happy. I just didn't know if it is more of an adaptive issue....if the problem should go away once learned or what

I will contact Bill when I get a chance... Thanks

Well, First off, I just spoke with Bill....and what a great guy to talk to, very pleasant and very helpful

He told me it sounds like the car still needs to learn. Most of my driving with the car has been on the interestate. He recommended more intown driving in automatic and then letting the car sit in park while running to let it "Burn In"......

He didn't seem surprised about my symptoms and felt this would correct itself with driving.

Thanks for the time and help Bill, Its much appreciated
