Yeah, just did. All is good. No water spots on the dipstick, and the consistency of the oil is normal. Coolant density and color is normal also. A big fuckin WHEW!!!!!!!!!! Man. You guys know how to scare a brutha!!! :scare:

Just a little coolant leaking into the oil will make it look like a starbucks mocha. No missing that, so you're good there.

haha, so it's 12:30 there and Chase is yelling "Oh shit!" jumping up and running out into the garage. I can imagine the wife watching all this... lol.

Like Chris and Ron have said,

IMHO, running the car at operating temp with the rad cap off is the best way to 'burp' the system. At that point, you can add more coolant while everything is open while also listening and/or looking to see if your fans are kicking on.

If your coolant is low, then usually nothing comes out of the radiator and it won't make a huge mess.

    I agree.
You can top it off as it's running.
You can see when the t-stat opens (coolant flowing past the cap opening).
You can verify that the fans kick on *after* the tstat opens.
It's just that when it "burps" it's likely to spew just a little bit. (keep a rag handy).

I believe the level in the overflow tank could be higher than the cap? If so, you should pinch off the bottom hose off the overflow tank. little vice grips or something.

    --manual says 50/50 mix anti-freeze/water

Chase, if you get coolant in the water you WILL notice when you look at the oil, also the fillercap on the rockercover will have "whipped cream" inside. Cracked block is an option but normally its headgasket.
But its something else as you ruled that out, witch is a good thing!
Hope you solve the case shortly.

Speedy, you meant coolant in the oil...and yes, most likely culprit is a popped head gasket. If that's was the case, you'd know right off...it would miss and sputter at idle and run like shit...no worries there.

I burp the system like Cam, REMOVE THE THERMOSTAT and just place my thumb over the overflow hose opening, remove the cap, get a good seal around my mouth on the overflow tank opening and pressurize the system with a strong exhale...release and it'll burp...do this a enough times until it quits gurgling, crank it up, let it come to temp...shut it down, let cool and repeat.
Chase, take your thermostat out and just put the gasket in there...drive it like that a few warm up cycles and repeat the procedure above. This will get ALL the air out the system. After that, replace thermostat and bleed with the allen, then you're good to go.

With it coming out of nowhere...All signs still point to fans though, what are your fan settings? You said you hear them come on...get a light in there and confirm they are BOTH running.

I'll be going to buy coolant within the hour. Gotta get some stuff done around the house first. I'll check back in when I get her done. Thanks to all that chimed in this morning!!!

    Have you been following me????
No, I actually have never blown a head gasket, but I´ve seen a few who has, and I had the previlage (spell like I have dyslectica today...) of being in the passanger seat of a friends BMW M6, the old, rare one with the straight six when I realized we were loosing speed from about 145 mph on a top speed run that should have reached at least 150...
The head gasket was blown, along with a lot of other stuff.:stars:

Broken a few other things though, but less than expected over the years!

I've blown my fare share...been playing with cars way before I was allowed by law to drive em. My first was a 1977 Ford Courier, blew two on it. Another one in 64 Chevy with straight 6 and 3 on the tree, then a 1996 Mustang GT, then recently (last year) my current 06 Charger SRT with my old 426. I think i have the experience in this area to diagnose that issue. :)

Chase, read my post again hommie. TAKE YOUR THERMOSTAT OUT, USE GASKET ONLY. Rule out the stat, it'll help get all the air out, you'll have flow from start up and it won't hurt anything, and wherever you have your fans set to,(if they work) they will keep it to that temp. I still think your fans are bonk. You triple check your fans?

Chase, how many miles are on your water pump? Its starting to sound like your system is full, but not flowing...

That would be the first I've ever hear of. Maybe the impeller (which is plastic) broke away from the drive shaft...would explain this happening all the sudden.(if the fans are indeed working ;))

Agreed that its not common on these, but there isn't much to the coolant loop. T-stat, rad cap, water pump, hoses, and rad/fans...
