Speaking of that Dave...I haven't rec any of my stuff I ordered...You? looks nice, clean. I still have moldings since 06, scared to do it now, may be faded now. Shoulda done it back then.
Hahaha too funny! Try living in AZ with no daylight savings... half the year you're PST... the other half MST. That was horrible.
No. Scott posted a while ago that response was large and gave a rough schedule for things. I kind of remember that satin finish things would be shipping in 2 or 3 weeks? and other finishes in 3 to 4 weeks? and custum stuff in 4 to 6 weeks? Probably didn't remember right but I just sort of filed away "a few weeks". here it is: http://www.srtconnection.com/forums/showthread.php?t=16883 On your moldings it would depend on wax/polish. After that exposure. I Zaino'd mine within 2 weeks of buying it (of course that was 6 months after manufacture date). Zaino (as I believe most quality waxes/polishes) blocks UV. I did mine about 1.5 years after buying it and I was worried about it since it's parked outside all day every day. No problems, not even a hint of fade/discolor/finish difference.
I've kept it waxed, and always under cover at night, but not during the day in hot Louisiana summer sun, but what scares me most is it sat for 16 weeks in Houston outside during summer, uncovered when that cock sucker Kelly had it. I guess if i took them off and saw fading, i could always reapply...Hmmm
I don't think fading will be an issue. Mine is also an '06 (4/06 build) and been a FL car since new. Its seen a little bit of sun too and I've NEVER waxed. I've been through several several commercial car washes and even washed a time or two with dish washing liquid... all not good. When I demolded I looked CLOSELY with a 3 bulb floor lamp shining on it. Nada. But the old molding tape left very faint lines that could only be removed with paint cleaner and a TON of elbow grease. I've got the Zaino kit now and can put a shine on it that looks day one to me.
