There is one of the these (plum crazy) on the Manhiem dealer auction right now...they give an average price of $24K....about the same as any 07 SRT8........Plum crazy Challys are just now coming off the line in a limited number....
If I could change one single thing about my car it would be for it to be one of the Plum Crazy SRT8 Chargers...man those things are sick.
Sure, right now, there just another CSRT8...however, if you hold onto a Plum Crazy Charger SRT8, in 20 or 30 years.... A "modern-mopar" ...factory built with only 300 produced in that color, 6.1L Hemi---seems "the one to have"....probably be a bunch of PC Challengers when all is said and done, but a one year run of 300....HOLD ONTO TO IT. Personally, I've never seen one ---wish I had...as they are rarer than most ferraris I would think other than an ENZO LOL
I feel bad that I don't know where my factory transmission or rear end is anymore.... Replaces for stronger.
Bingo... If you want your car to be collectable in any way. You better have all ORIGINAL parts on it. That 426..is it on the original block? (It will not help that it is even a 426...6.1 original block will be worth more). Those PP heads and/or intake..original or did you send in your cores? (Maybe you can get by with this one) That fancy CAI and cat back system will probably drop the price, by way more than the cost of the mod. It is one thing to have a collectable car....but it is truelly a collectable because it is an ORIGINAL, PARTS MATCHING car. ..
ditto...... the plum crazy srt's were more of an "after thought" run than anything else. yeah, if you have one, hold on to it!!!
One of our local dealers here still has, I believe, and 09 Orange Super Bee SRT8, still brand new sitting in his showroom; but he will take nothing less than sticker.
yes the 426 built for my car, the 1st one ever built used my stock block. Oddly enough in the next month or so that old 426 will find its way back into my SRT Magnum where it belongs. As for my car personlly BEng collectable I think if it were even to have a slight chance to be thought of being collectable it would be because of 1. The 426 2 Being in SEMA '06 & '08 3. The prototype parts tried on it 4. I have every single receipt and magazine coverage on the car Do I think it is rare or collectable.... In a way yes but it isn't for sale.
Jon if you want one now is a good time to buy one....There is one almost always on the block at the Manhiem dealer auctions...they are hard to sell because they are a speciality color that is not popular so I see them sometimes sell under what another standard color SRT would bring. You could swap all your mods in and sell your red sled for close to the same price you would pay for the plum...maybe even more... The PC SRT8 will probably fetch a classic price 20-30 years from now...provided they are still street legal and any of todays cars are considered classics in the future....technology may change the "wants" people have......IMO all of our vehicles will be worthless 30 years from now.... But hey, I passed up an opportunity to buy a 1970 Plymouth GTX 440 magnum for $800 back in 1975....only had 20 some thousand miles on it but I figured it had been run hard and I couldnt afford to rebuild...:dumb:
IMO you are very correct here. I don't see any late 60 early 70 muscle cars that are 4 door cars that are getting any kind of money. You need to go back into the 30s and 40s to see any 4 door cars that are getting ANY big money. MAYBE the Challenger will have some worth in 40+ years. ..
I feel IMO that the 05 Csrt8 and any msrt8 will be the rarest srt8. but don't forget this! A red badge R/T Magnum! I thing this is the rarest LX car period! lol!
2006 Australian Delivered 300C SRT8 Sedan (we also get the SRT8 wagon) Mineral Grey. Only 75 delivered.
07-08 Steel Blue MRST8's will be the rarest IMO, with less than 300 made between the two years its gonna be a hard car to spot. I never knew the color existed until i bought mine and havent seen another since. Even when i go to car shows and meets, im always the only SRT8 in this color.
Your right about the steel blue. But don't forget 06 was inferno red and 07/08 was torret red. I know if money was no object I would have all 4 colors of MSRT8 made.
