Sorry to hear this bud, very sad. I rode most of my life and like lots of guys, didn't wear a lid unless it was cold. For the most part, my last street bike regular ride I was heading to work one evening and the only reason I had a lid, well, it was cold.
So I'm doing 50+ and SHE was doing about 20 when SHE decided to make a left hand turn. Anyhow, it was the best impression of superman I ever did. Spent a year recovering from that one. If it wasn't for my lid, I wouldn't be so damn cute now, that thing took a good beating. Wear the damn brain bucket bro, I'd hate to fly out there for anything other then a good party.

I am sorry for your loss, Scott.

I quit riding bike back in 1973, I landed on the hood of a car and it was my fault.

I will never get back on one.

My prayers go out to the family and to you.

    Chuck

scotty - man, i am sooo sorry to hear of the loss of your friend. as a rider like you, we have talked many a time when we have gottne together about bike stuff. it is a eye opener whenever i hear this stuff. i wear my helmet hot/cold/rain/sun....don't matter. too many spills on my scooters over the years has driven that point home. i send my condolences to his family and i hope his passing sends a message to others that knew him that spend time on two wheels......

I'm sorry for your loss. My thoughts are with you and his family.
I took a dive off a GSX-R once. What ended up being just some moderate road rash could have been far worse if not for the full face helmet I was wearing. I banged and dragged my face off the pavement which beat the crap out of my helmet but left my face intact.
