you lucky bastage..... if thats me...i get thrown in the slammer LOL.... one of these days i'd like a warning haha
I'm not sure of SDPD, but up here, if it's a 2 man unit, it's most likely a crime car, not a traffic car. They have better things to do, they're just looking out for your safety Congrats on not getting written up!:birthday: I think they should be allowed to be grouchy to an extent. It shouldn't effect how they deal with john q citizen, but if they choose to be harsher on the local clucks, no harm no foul IMO. People complain to me when they have to work xmas eve:crying:. Try working 50+ hrs b/t Dec 24,25,26 and not spending a christmas at home in 4 yrs. And when most people are kissing hot bitches on new years eve, I'll be the poor sap drinking my Rockstar by myself in a parking structure praying I dont get hit by a falling bullet LOL. Powers are given to LEOs by the state of CA. SDPD can cite you in San Fran. They'd have some 'splaining to do to their brass why they were 800mi out of their RD lol, but the cite would technically hold. Although, I dont think the OT would get approved if you chose to fight it in court...no show, you win LOL.. hmmmmm:hmm: Respect ALL LEOs:usflag:...except for the motor cops....They're a different breed....we dont even like them haha :busted:
Not sure either. In Ohio there were jurisdictions. State troopers (for traffic related stuff) would patrol the interstates and state routes. They could write tickets in the city limits but they didn't. The city cops I'm not so sure about. Whether they could write tickets outside of the cvity limits -- I don't think so. They could certainly write tickets on the interstate within the city limits. Outside of the city limits it was the Sheriffs. But it doesn't really matter 'cause everywhere they have "jurisdictions". Basically you don't step on someone else's territory/revenue when it comes to routine traffic stops like regular type of speeding. So if you were outside of the city limits it's likely one of them said "heh, pull him over! I want to look at that car!" and there was no way you were getting cited. If you were in the city limits then it's likely one of them said "heh, pull him over! I want to look at that car!" and then since you seemed nice and reasonable and it wasn't really dangerous they didn't cite you.
