    Thanks for the input Cam!!!

    Looks like this should work.

As many others have said before -Your the MAN!!!

The feedback and ideas from so many very very experienced builders is much appreciated. The car forums community is made up of so many who care about helping others. Nice to see especially at this time of year and with so many whom are experiencing tough times.

    Thank you CAM!!!!!

Ya well fuck Cam. I put his driveshaft loop on and my motor started knocking (it really did). I am in the process of documenting how the ion-harmonic, super-heated deflector gassed radial air isssues smoked my motor.

J/K bud! Keep it up man...:)

your build is crazy rubbel...hang in there!!!

I haven't been reading or posting anything in our section here (on this thread or any) for a few weeks now for a number of reasons, but figured since our vendor section is still active, I'd post what I posted on all the other forums yesterday and prior. Hope you all had a nice Christmas.

Mine too! I suggested that on December 4th when the issue was discovered. I'm just a girl, though, what do I know!! :flowers:

Got it, thanks Nathan! Nice work!

I actually did not "post" anything; I updated the project plan web page with the status, Jim. For those that aren't aware, I have a living project plan document that is kept current at all times so that Jim (and anyone who wishes to view it) can see the status of parts in progress.

There is no drama from me on this, and it will be simple to seal up. Did I say anything to you about it otherwise? No, I did not. Nothing was discussed, as there is no issue and no concern from my end. You are reading into a single character typed in a project plan. I put the (?) in MY notes of the project plan as a reminder to myself to make sure we know the exact procedures and specs to follow from Yella Terra when we go to seal the unit. Since we don't have it yet, I haven't seen what is exactly needing to be done, so that is my reminder to make sure we have the specs. Nothing more, nothing less. If you have a question about something in my notes, just ask please and I'll be glad to explain anything.

Like I said above, modifying the exhaust was my suggestion as well on December 4th when we discovered the exhaust fitment issue. When I informed Jim of the fitment issue, I gave him 3 suggestions, all of which were exhaust modification related, including modifying the portion where there was clearance issues, customizing the exhaust or running just the part of the exhaust system (headers, mid-pipe, etc.) that is forward of the issue area. Jim did not want to modify the Corsa cat-back since it was 304 stainless and had been specially coated, and instead decided to get a new driveshaft made, preferably in carbon fiber. So, I got to work on that sourcing information from several manufacturers, including Builder Bill as I preferred to continue to work with him, as did Jim. Additionally, Jim wanted to use the down time created by having the driveshaft made to do some other mods.

Fast forward to the recent posts about the carbon fiber driveshaft Builder Bill is making, with a chromoly placeholder to arrive in the interim for our use to get the car running and tuned, etc. Additionally, Jim has since decided that modifying the Corsa is okay and we are permitted to do so as needed using 304 stainless, and then we will re-coat the exhaust.

I never suggested replacing or modifying the driveshaft to fix this fitment issue as that never even crossed my mind. There was very little clearance between the driveshaft and Hurst shifter as well as fuel tank shield, though, so a smaller one won't be a bad thing. Point being, we knew the easiest fix to the issue would be to customize the exhaust a bit, but that is not what the customer instructed us to do when the issue arose.

The other missing piece is that we were planned to have the car running December 10, but ran into an issue with the transmission. When we filled the transmission with fluid, it leaked, prior to ever being fired up. In light of the internal transmission leak, exhaust issue, driveshaft wait, and list of other mods Jim wanted to bring the car back to have done after 1000 mile break-in (see project plan link for list), we jointly decided that it would be best to just get to work on the complete list of things so the car can be done once and for all. So, we worked urgently to remove everything from the car, ship out the supercharger to Yella Terra for the intercooler upgrade, get the heads ready to template for port matching to the supercharger runners, ship the driveshaft to Builder Bill, and investigate the transmission leak issue. The following Saturday we were at PRI where we met with Rockland and I showed them the pic of the transmission leak, they apologized and said it was an oversight due to being the first one they built, and removed the needed plug from one of their display transmissions and gave it to me to fix the issue. Since then we have been continuing to gather parts, await new items to arrive and try to forecast and resolve any issues in advance so mid-January (the goal) we can get to work and complete the build.

Sorry for being long-winded in this, but my focus has been on trying to get all the new parts for the next phase of this build ordered and get all our ducks in a row to complete the build and so I haven't been as diligent recently in documenting the ongoings here like I should have. So, that is what transpired the first couple weeks of December that I hadn't posted here.

    Lisa.

P.S. For anyone interested, here are pics of the exhaust clearance issue (first 2) as well as the transmission missing plug (last 3).

For reasons that are in both Jim's and BMC's best interest, I have suggested Jim consider having another shop complete his build and that is how he would like to proceed as well. We wish Jim the best of luck with his project.
