I will keep everyone posted as to how this pans out. My goal is to have a solution by the end of the week. And a new tranny and torque converter installed the week I'm in Vegas on vacation (19th - 24th). But I should have some more definite answers by the weekend. And results by the end of the month!!

    About $1,000 :D

Hey Chase lemme know when you are in Vegas, I might drive through there during that time and grab me some pizza at NYNY.

So you're saying the unit is identical but one is $1k less than the other?

At one time they were identical because they were partners. Not sure if they are the same now but I do know for a fact that SHR made several significant advancements in theirs a few weeks after the partnership disolved.
On another note. Not to be a party pooper as I wish the best for the LX community and having good parts as cheap as possible but seeing how the tranny's are made stronger and the work/parts/machining done to beef them up, theres no way someones going to figure out and make a new cheaper one in 2 weeks from scratch. Theres a lot of custom machine work done to a lot of parts. I gotta give Eddie credit he used some real ingenuity in making these bad boys stronger and it took lots of r&d and quite a few burned up tranny's to get it right, and man is it right!

BBill actually has a warranty. SHR does not.

Will do bro!!! We fly in the 19th of this month!! Staying at "The Signature @ MGM Grand"
Yup. The Builder Bill trans, Bill himself quoted me is $4850 plus shipping. On Southern HotRod's site, their trans is listed for $3799 plus shipping. :)
Nobody's gonna make one from scratch for me in two weeks!?? However, yes, I am looking into another shop seeing what they can research. I TOTALLY AGREE that Eddie has "the unit" of choice. But I am trying to exhaust my options here. As $4,000 is good size "bump in the road" :)
Something tells me, that Eddie's unit is very equal, maybe I'm neive, or maybe I'm right. But it just seems that if "something" were to happen, Eddie would do what's right for his customer. He just seems to be the type to look after his customers......but then again I could be just giving faith off his stellar reputation. :)

X2! I've mine for a year now. I've been hitting it with a 300 shot and it hasn't missed a beat. Hits 2-3 so hard it chirps the tires.

I had a problem unrelated to my Paramount Performance tranny (ended up the transfercase), however I blamed the tranny and without hesitation or question Bill shipped me a 2nd tranny with the upgraded machining and valvebody.......no questions asked. Even though it turned out to be the transfercase he still honored the tranny warranty with no hassle.:king:

SHR has a ZERO % failure rate on NAG1's!

Who else can make that claim ???

    LOVE my tranny!
