If anyone has a chance on the way to your car tomorrow, please peek at your VIN through the windshield. Is yours covered almost completely (top half etc) by the dash? I'm trying to determine whether to make the dealer fix this (move dash) or if this was done by Chrysler to prevent unwanted eyes from reading them. Of course the one in the door when opened is able to be read.
I'll try to remember to look at mine in the morning. I sort of remember that it's readable (maybe). I'm also thinking that it's required to be visible? No idea where I got that impression...
your Vin isnt on your reg? I dont think I have ever looked at my dash vin...just get it off the registration... that a NY thing? I remember it was very easy to read on the mustang....but never thought to check on the car or truck
Yup, mine's the same. Cuts off the tops of the letters/numbers and gets worse as you read the VIN left to right. By the time you get to the end of the VIN it's cutting off the full top half of the characters. If your dash doesn't creak or rattle I'd avoid having anyone do anything to it unless you really have to.
