I just read something about the lowered vehicles hitting the exhaust with the diff. Would this be addressed with the coilover? Thanks.

we will be sending a 50% off coupon for Home Depot for the 3 lb shorty sledge hammer :)

I dont think that would be under what we are doing, But I will look into it and se if we can come up with a solution and workaround if need be,

it may just be wade and his texas sized paranoia......:stars:

it was posted about 2 months ago on the red site:
"I was under the jeep lastnight tracking down a noise and I noticed that the exhaust piping on my Borla S has been taking a beating from the top of the rear differential housing. I'm guessing its from hard launches and the jeep squatting in the rear and WHAM its pretty bad had taken a little chunk out of it (no hole but ugly) Just FYI crawl under there and look at the area above the rear diff. OH also look at how bad the emergency brake line has been chewed thru by the rear diff mine was replaced and is almost torn in two again As far as the Borla will have a new bracket welded in to give it better support and not allow it to float so much."

Ok Casey dropped the Jeep off yesterday so I have some time now if someone wants to join in this looks like it is 99% done some machine work and fitment then back to the factory and we should have parts....Thanks Casey for the use of your shoe.

Maybe we will need to supply a exhaust also ?????

So, the K-sport guys are aware of the possible exhaust crush issue? I honest don't know much about this since my car hasn't been lowered, but sure looks close even with stock setup...Best to bring it up and make sure to be safe, right? My corsa would be expensive to replace. lol.

I talked with Branden this morning and here are some of the excerpts of our conversation.

ksportsales: jeep should be a success
    me: right on
ksportsales: got eveything done as far as measurements are concerned
the rear is a very big pain in the ass
we're going to have to include step by step instructions for the rear
me: but its going to work right
ksportsales: yeah it shoul dbe just fine
Sent at 9:22 AM on Monday
    me:
    awesome
Sent at 9:24 AM on Monday
    me:
order in some more lx platform coilovers
ksportsales: I'm having more come in on the container for Jan
    me: nice
Sent at 9:31 AM on Monday
    me:
so wahats so hard about the rear end'
ksportsales: the rear spring placement, when it's sitting at the regular ride height on the lowering springs it's already compressing the stock bump stop
it should have been changed out but casey's installer didn't swap the bump stops
we found about another inch and a half of travel in relocating the bump stop and it's housing
Sent at 9:36 AM on Monday
    me:
    wow really'
so we gained 1 1/2 of travel
Sent at 9:40 AM on Monday
    ksportsales:
well yes and no the car won't be able tog o much lower than it does with lowering springs
Sent at 9:44 AM on Monday
    me:
thats cool but everything else looks good to go
    ksportsales: seems to be thusfar
me: when do you think we will have a test parts
ksportsales: couple weeks probably, let me find a more concrete estimate
me: sweet and whats the delivery time after that
ksportsales: we'll find out friday an ETA
    me: for the test parts
    or ctual parts
    actual
    ksportsales: for everything

That is where we are at folks so I believe I have until Friday or next Next Friday to take any more initial orders on the coilovers. I will have a solid deadline for it the cut off date and By this Friday I should have a solid deadline for Final shipment and final payment dates. It looks good so far and just wanted to keep everyone involved in this in the loop.

I asked about the exhaust but it did not seem to be a problem when speaking to him we will know more when we install the prototype coilovers.

Mike I am having the kit manufactured by Ksport for the jeeps. they were the only one to step up and do it. They also allow for another 1.5" of drop below the stock bump stop by making a relocation bracket for it. This is a GB we are taking $500 down and 900 on the back side when they are to ship. SRT managment actually called Ksport to make sure I was not going to jump the shark with some cash (he he) that just shows you that they care about their members:)

But anyhow thats it in a nutshell the pric will go up $50+ shipping after the initial buy.

The pic of the 2 Jeeps is mine(stock). The lowered one has just springs done to it.

From the Red site a question.

I'd like to ask a few questions..

Will these provide a better ride all the way down then the Bwoody springs? Yes the will be capable of dropping completely on the bump stops and with the relocation of the rear bumpstops there will be a full 1 to 1.2" of downward travel

Will the shocks be adjustable to the degree that you don't lose any shock travel? Yes the damper is in a tube that is threaded so you will be able to have full stroke articulation depending on how you set the dampers up. The will be similar to the drawing in the first post

I know higher end coilover kits for say,my Honda have that kind of adjustment so it will ride the same all the way up,or slammed.Otherwise,it will compromise the ride quality when you slam it by shortening up the travel of the shocks, will it not? The dampers are completely adjustable for stroke and it will have a 36 way dampening/rebound adjustment. The rear damper will have to be unbolted to adjust because of the way the mount is...when we get the prototype parts we will see if there is a way to change that.

Also, what is the final lowered height from stock?I saw one post that said as low as the Bwoody's in the rear.Another .5" or so would be great and would make it more than worth it,well that combined with a ride like stock. Also,by going lower in the rear, will there be any issues with the drive shaft being at a weird angle? I dont know about the drive shaft angel it might strees it over a long time frame but it is withing the factory angles that Chrysler designed them for so there should not be a problem, it might by the looks of it make it even a straighter shot with less angels. the set of spring that were on the Jeep we used were aftermarket I do not know the brand but at ride height the coils were in a bind and under compression they bound up even more. As far as factory ride Is should be close a little stiffer depending on how your set the damper up. We can also have the damper adjusted for drag racing or road racing if you would like....more cost but the option is there.

Just something to think about.I would definitely buy them to slam it if I spent that kinda money. completely understand we welcome questions maybe you see something we missed 1000 brains are better than 1 :)

One last thing, after this group buy,for those of us on the edge and would like to see some reviews first, will they still be available?

They will be available the price will increase by $50 and no free shipping so they will go up about $100 total. We understand and want to get a set on the market so people will know how they work. I think people will be extremely happy with them.

LOL, The fam and I are in as good of condition as we can be considering the severity of the accident. Let me just say I HATE drunk drivers!!!

    How is everything coming along?

I have been thinking of having the coil overs branded in Black and Red anodizing...I would have to have 10 or more to do it and its another $25 let me know if anyone is interested...We are waiting on the test parts now...All is good I was hoping this would have went faster and we could have had them before Christmas...:(
