I picked up my motor from the machine shop yesterday...felt like a kid in a candy shop. A few facts so far: -New bore size: 4.085" (Original bore size from Arrington: 4.08") -Wiseco pistons, 10.5:1 compression ratio (I bumped it up a little) -Sealed power rings, 1.5mm, 1.5mm top ring sizes -Reusing my PPP cam...224/228 .598"/.578" 114 degree lobe separation -Reusing my PPP stg II heads...looked good after we disassembled and inspected -New oil pump and new stock timing set -Paramount SFI flexplate -Poly motor mounts -Cleaned up exhaust manifolds...I wouldn't call it "ported" by any means but I removed the weld lip and smoothed out the inside of the manifolds -The snout of my K-1 crank had a very unusual taper on both sides of the radius. Without going into great detail, we did a little more machining than just adding the recommended 45 degree chamfer to make it (the crank gear) fit perfectly. -The original rod bearings were -.001 and were TIGHT. Not sure why Arrington did that -The whole assembly was balanced from the harmonic balancer through the flexplate and the cylinder work was done with a deck plate bolted up. -I should be driving next week...I have been down since June 28th...thanks for looking!
I got 477 rwhp and 493 rwtq before at SVS in Sacramento...I am now hoping for a little more. I'll call you once it's fired up Ron!
This is the same motor. I was able to reuse everything except pistons, bearings and gaskets. I did buy a new oil pump during my original troubleshooting as the original one had ground itself up a little bit
Sounds like thing are going in the right direction for ya Jon...hope to see ya bust that 500HP barrier!!:king:
They are listed in the original post dude. I hope to have bigger numbers now...Bob at SVS said my motor was very noisy (knock sensor wise)...I already had much damage done from the incredible tune DCXDepot gave me.
Jon, you will SLAUGHTER the 500rwhp mark with that build!!!!! GREAT JOB DUDE. That thing is gonna be nasty........so happy for you man. Do you already have halfshafts, lol??
I do The engine players are: -428 c.i.d. (I think...4.085 bore X 4.08" stroke) -Extrude-honed and polished intake manifold matched to the TB -Arrington 90mm TB -PPP stg II heads -224/228 .598"/.578" cam -cleaned up exhaust manifolds -25% underdrive pulley -10.5:1 compression ratio All the rest of the money-pit-objects on my car are to help the car get down the road effectively and safely. Heck, removing the side moldings had to add 2 horsepower alone
Time to hit up Milan and get a new siggy bro. Once you get that thing back, get her detailed, waxed, and go drive the SHIT out of her.
