    James,

No car will show exact numbers on any dyno, especially on two separate machines. If you are off by only 1 HP from Techco's dyno to your personal dyno shop, what's the problem? Even if the weather is similar, correction factor is the same, blah blah blah, your car will never, ever have the same number.

Let share this, Dyno Machine is for tuning purposes. It was never intended on accurately calculating true horsepower. A good Dyno tuner can manipulate HP #'s all day long to make any car a Dyno "Queen".

If Cam has given your car a clean bill of health, then you should feel very confident that there is nothing wrong. Be happy and enjoy your beautiful ride, James.

Another point of interest for you. My old Paxton kit also had an aftercooler system. During the summer months, and during day to day hard driving, I had to fill my reservoir once a week or so. Water evaporates quickly, especially in an engine bay and with outside temps of 80 - 115*... I think that your water usage is more from evaporation than anything, especially with sch a "Small" reservoir. The coolant on your garage floor could be from many reasons. 1) youo spilled some while filling the reservoir. 2) overflow burp after a spirited run, ect...

Get that bad ass ride and enjoy it. :)

I had to add coolant to my Techco kit several times when it was new.. I checked the bottle earlier today and it took maybe a dixie cup full to top it off...

Hi Ron, either I was not clear, or you must have misunderstood me. My baseline numbers at Techco were within 1 HP and TQ SAE, when compared to my last numbers at the shop in Reseda, but the last dyno sheet from Techco after the supercharger installation was quite a bit higher (at times, a difference of around 50 RWHP / 40 RWTQ, when heat soaked, and around 30/30 when cooled a bit), when compared to the numbers that I obtained at the dyno shop in Reseda, after I got Techco's tune checked out. I thought that this was due to the intercooler leak, causing higher IAT's, pulling timing, and causing the low RPM knock retard and some pinging up top. My concern is that the leak may not be pronounced at idle, such as Cam's test, but only when the car is actually driven. I have to fill my little reservoir after each drive, and after I check the level in the morning. The fill resevoir is a little tiny box containing about 2 - 3 ounces of fluid that leads up via hoses to the actual intercooler reservoir.

Interesting. I can send pictures of my set-up, if someone would like to post it.

    James,

I don't think you are understanding. It is normal for you to lose such a small amount of fluid, especially during the summer months. Since your reservoir only holds a couple of ounces, then there really isn't anything to be overly concerned about.

As fof the dyno, "Again", every dyno is going to be different. Your supposed 30 or 50 hp difference can be attributed to many things. It seems that Techco could have possibly inflated your original numbers to make a statement for Marketing? Techco could have added race fuel (104 or 110 octane) during your dyno session to make the HP numbers increase. And no you will have no way of proving or disproving this theory.

You have to stop gauging what you think is a problem on your Vette because someone with a Hemi is having a problem. Two different animals my friend.

If Cam says nothing is wrong and he could not find anything broke, then I would believe Cam fully!!!!

Well I'll be damned. Walked in this morning and whatta ya know, the coolant level in the filler was down 1/2". This should be a fun one.

See, and you all thought that I was crazy. Yup, after each time that I filled it up, and then checked in the morning, the same thing would happen. At least I do not have to bring the car all the way back.

BELIEVE me, I would rather you had nothing to fix, because it is now going to cost me more, but I am glad that you saw what I knew was there, and will fix it the first time around, versus me having to drive another 600 miles. :friends::p I just hope that it is something simple.

No worries, I already promissed Cam some good Brazilian drinks, but he will have to provide me with room and board, because I will not be able to drive afterwards. :stars:

If you stay at Cam's, make sure your boxers are on backwards or you will receive TWO surprises...

If its a close loop system with no relief vent how is it evaporating and getting out.
Just my 2C. I have had to top off my SC several time to. I am noticing a slight mousture ring where the front cover connects to the intercooler.
Another thing that I noticed is a distict smell, I tought that might be the fuel additive I use but I could be wrong, it might be AF.

    TWO surprise huh, LOL.

I thought the same thing. There is really nowhere for it to evaporate, as I see it.

    Can we speculate?

Here's my guess. It has to do with it cooling off.
Air somewhere cools off and creates a vacuum.
The vacuum pulls the coolant out of the closed system somewhere.
The leak doesn't leak without the vacuum on the other side or when it's hot.

That is a good speculation, but we will have to wait and see. At least now I know why my subsequent dyno numbers were lower, with high IAT's. more KR, and some detonation, and the tune had to be adjusted accordingly. With the fluid leak, the charge is not cooled down properely, basically almost being a non-intercooled system, blowing hot non-intercooled air. Hopefully, when the leak is identified and repaired, the system will be more efficient.
