Every once in a while 3rd gear pops out on me. i have the booger bushings and a Hurst shifter. i have adjusted the shifter stoppers to ensure that they they dont over shift. the pop out always happens when i am putting around. When I drive it hard there is never an issue. only when i drive slow. i think it is me not putting it into gear all the way. What do you think?

so don't worry about it until it breaks. which it probably wont ever do. i have am going to check the adjustment on my cables on the shifter. if the neutral spot has shifted since i installed the shifter 3rd gear would be short. Since that is free Ill check that first.
And by "gotchas'" you mean thats just the way she is so deal with it or "gotcha" I got screwed when i bought since the previous owner new about the issue and that is why he sold it:popcorn:?

Sorry to say but it WILL break I promise you that. Its made out of brass and weak as shit.... Mine popped out of gear for about 5 months before it broke.... Its a known problem with the SRT-4 so dont think your the only one. Thats why they made a billet one.

well at least I know that now. once I do the clutch ill pull the tranns apart and put in there aforementioned billet shift fork and agp shift selector from MPx that i have seen. On a side note.... the cross over cable on the shifter did appear to be out of adjustment. to far back by about 1/4". i released the set bolt and the let the cable rest on its own.

I still think that it is from me not putting it in gear all the way. that might be wishful thinking. I only drive it about 200 to 300 miles a month. Since I bought in April of this year I have only put 2000 miles on it. so who carries the billet forks?

I adjusted the shifts stops and the crossover link on the shifter and i have not had any problems since. the more I read about the issue more people have said 3rd pops under a load and mine thankfully has:thanks: never done that.
i will for sure when i do the clutch be getting the billet parts either way. :thanks:

yep once i need a clutch and the tranny has to be out the billet shift selector and input shaft will be installed. there is a shop here in Sac-of-tomatoes that will install and supply the parts for $450. so far so good though. I have not had an issue in 500 miles since my adjustments. My does not pop out under a load though. so once that time comes.

I have the same issues you do except during downshifting to 3rd from 4th or 5th and will be finding out in April if it's a bent 3/4 shift fork.
