Drove down to West Palm Beach this morning. Lots of rain on the trip down but dry when I arrived. WOW is all I could say. The car lokked REALLY NICE. The work done by BMC and all involved has been top notch. Reading the build inspection no doubt this is really a blueprinted engine!!! Piston clearance is .0041" in EVERY CYLINDER. Most dimensions from cylinder to cylinder are +/_ .0001 and .0006" max, (on one dimension). Very impressed. The fuel system was a work of art and was everything I dreamed in real life. Sitting in the new seats, checking out the gauges, seeing the slicks on the car for the first time, the morrosso parts, all the stainless lines and AN fittings that matched, the Whipple s/c, the Arrington TB, the nitrous and the fire suppression, ECT.,ECT all were wonderful experiences. A kid in a candy store. It is obvious we are very close to starting the engine and getting a tune and doing break-in. I've only seen my car 3 times in person these last 10 months and today was GREAT. Best of all in spite of some bumps in the road (and everyone will have a few bumps in the road on these type builds) this whole project is FUN and more FUN. Right now I'm arranging to have some very nice walnut plaques made and sent to each of the primary vendors and/or persons who helped make a vision a reality as a thank you. Today was a good, no a GREAT day!!!

It was great to see you again today, and thanks for the kind words about the build! We have thoroughly enjoyed this build and are so glad you're having fun, too! I took lots of pics and will get those posted tonight so everyone can see how the slicks look on the car, as well as some of you checking things out, too.

Jim came to see us (and his car, he he) as we're winding things down on his build. Here are some pics from his visit today.

Well these last three posts are FANTASTIC...

Jim, I am so very glad that this build is coming to an end and that you are a happy camper. I am smiling ear to ear for you buddy (lol like you need help smiling).

BMC has done a fantastic job in orchestrating, no "Conducting" this build.

The car and her new found power plant look great. And I must say, I did not like the rim choice at first, BUT after seeing them on the sled, I LOVE them!

    Cudo's to ALL.

Before I make a comment about Jim's car, just wanted to let everyone know that Jim is a real standup guy IMO. He has sent me some very nice and kind words over the last two months on more than one occassion, and I really do appreciate that!

I have seen his car firsthand, and I agree that it is going to be unreal and that BMC has done some quality craftmanship on this car. It isn't simply a situtation where someone bolted up some pre-fab mods to it. Every system looks to be well thought out and custom to at least one degree!

Jim lives in Tampa-town along with me and I am anxious to get a look at the car when it is done and see it hit the track in person!! Gonna be good!

In order to provide the cooling needed, we decided to upgrade the intercooler and water pump for this build, and with rubbel's approval, got the following ...

Here is where we are mounting the intercooler, making the custom brackets now (zip ties just for bumper fitment).

Here is how it will look, no bumper clearance issues.

Here are some pics of the gauges lit up ... it looks really cool with the Cobalt coloring. :)

We just manually powered these for a few pics, since the battery is out of the car, and the tach is on a separate power source, which is why it's not lit up yet.

Here is how the CAI is going to fit, and there is some nice airflow to the filter from in between the headlight and intercooler, too! Final pics to follow.

Thanks to Legmaker for coming down and making the carbon inlet tube for us!!

Legmaker - you did a great job. Maybe when we reach stage two mods will look at relocation of air intake too. Thanks for your contribution to my project!!!!

Talked with BMC this morning and expect to have my car before Thanksgiving!!!

I cannot believe I am already making a list for phase two modifications. I spent an hour at an interesting shop this morning and realized there is more to be accomplished after break-in and some passes. I am going with another CAI design by LEGMAKER for the track and use the current one for the street. I also will be making a mod to the Whipple for improved cooling and converting to an 8 rib pulley system with a lightweight 7.5" crank pulley. Also plan on adding a race prepped melling oil pump. The pulley change will require a different water pump too. Also plan on adding a quick change in line fuel filter (-10AN) from aeromotive.Oh yeah, and a BADA** rating sticker as well. Now if I can run some decent 60 ft and 1/4 mile times on top I'll just enjoy and leave the modding to others. FYI Legmaker - had several people comment on your great work!!!!

When JZ asked me if Chris was still making my CAI I said no - I'm using legmaker. Guess my brain was dreaming of when I will actually be driving this car again. Your work on my CAI received a lot of positive comments from as far away as Australia!!!! I look forward to the new design as well. JZ is making very good progress and picked the right man for his intake!!!

    Thanks

As for gauges autometer fuel pressure; oil pressure; boost pressure; oil temperature; water (heat exchanger) temperature; water temperature (engine block from evic - no gauge added);EGT temp one bank;A/F meter; programable shift light for launch rpms and each gearchange;large tachometer with pre shift warning light and replay; Trinity for EGT from other bank.Trinity for different tunes for street and strip set-ups. So including Trinity 10. I don't like posting or admitting it but 10 IT IS!!!! :stars:
