I got to Cam's shop Sunday late morning to visit a while and while Cam and I were chit chatting, Cam had asked how my oil dilema was. I told Cam that I was still sending oil into #6 and 8 and that the silicone was not working. I also explained that Mike from BWoody had sent me a set of their intake spacers. Cam then stated that he wanted to install those spacers as it would be fairly easy at his shop. Mind you Cam is moving at a mile a minute working on Envied's Jeep and Fatchance's 300. Well I could not just sit around watching Cam and Brett (?) work on John's car, so I kept asking Cam to give me something to do. haha Yea, get your minds out of the gutter, it wasn't the time for that. So after everything was reinstalled on John's 300, it was time to move the 300 out of the bay and bring in 1bad4dr. Now I figured we would start disassembling the blower, but Cam had something else in mind... This guy Cam is a FRICKEN GENIOUS!!! So, after lifting the blower with the hoist, it was time to coat the spacers with some copper spray... Now you DO NOT want to touch the copper after it has been sprayed on nor do you want to move the gasket/spacer around and smear it... Why? Because it is sticky, messing, and smearing will ruin the effect. We lowered the blower down slowly while using thin punch set to ensure that the spacer, head, and runner holes all lined up correctly. PITA, but well worth the extra effort. Did I mention Cam is a FRICKEN GENIOUS? Now that the spacers are in, it is time to make shims for the screw shaft (lmao yea, that statement is funny). Once the shims are made and everything is in perfect alignment, it's now time to get an already too small of a belt (another wonderful Techco design *add sarcasm here*) to stretch over the pullies. haha After about an hour or so, she was ready to fire up. All looked good except one injector. It wasn't feeding fuel. WTF? haha Took the injector out, cleaned it reinstalled, all is well. We all give Cam a hard time by saying, "Get back to work", but after spending a full day (11:30am to 11:30pm) at Cam's shop, I must say, he is a working Robot! What we need to tell Cam is, "TAKE A BREAK"! Seriously. Cam will not quit. I really wish I was closer so that I can help Cam in all the projects he has going on as he is primarily a one man show and certainly DESERVES a nice long vacation. Thanks again Cam, you are a GREAT person, a true friend, and an awesome fabricator/mechanic! Glad you are a part of the LX community and more over, a part of mine and Maureen's lives. Oh yea, I almost forgot. Cam came through for me a second time on Monday. You see, I was out doing burnouts and donuts for a video and I burnt up the power steering pump (haha number 3). Cam had a spare pump at his shop, and said that I could use it. SAWEEEEEEEEET. Unfortunately the pump ended up being bad. It was a used pump that Cam had left over from the wrecked Maggy he bought earlier this year, and thought it was good. Nope. Turn's out there is a leak coming from the main body of the pump. Soooooo, Oh shit, what to do, what to do? Hmmmm There sits Hal's car. lol Yup, I stole the pump from Hal's car. I will be sending Cam a new pump for Hal's car this week, so no worries there. Thanks Hal for the loaner pump.
Heh, looks like he got a free Techco t-shirt... tell him to get back to work! LOL. And shame on you, Hal's still breathing last I heard.
Cam's shop is located in Riverside, CA... lmfao... I was gonna make some changes to his shirt, but I could not find the Silver Sharpie.. haha
