So we were lucky enough to get #40 of the drag pak cars. Should we go and run stock eliminator or just make it fast as hell. BTW it's 1 of 5 built with a 5.7 It's also a stick car, not sure how many were built with a manual trans.
That is kick ass... IMO, I would go and run it like you got it and see what she does. Then go balls to wall...
As far as runing stock elemanator its going to be tough. The 6.1 cars are runing in AA/SA and A/SA DEPENDING ON THERE WT. So it all depends what class the 5.7 runs in and being a stick car its going to be worst. All i can say is you better have deep pockets to run with the stock elemanator boys. Good luck no matter what you do.
As for the cost of running E Stock. Yes those boys have deep pockets. We could handle running our division, but I don't have the time or money to run the national circut. I plan to dyno the engine and see what it's got. We'll build the car to handle a good amount of power without cutting it up. Then see were it takes us.
Way cool. Glad to see some factory race cars. Reminds me of the late 60's. E/S index is 11.95. Seems reasonable.
OMG.... that thing is AWESOME! You are very luck to have one.... how long did it take you to get it.... assuming it was "special" ordered!!! Congrats!!!
Yes but the record is 10.61 and most NHRA cars will run 1.00/1.20 under the index so that means it would have to run at least 10.95 just to win the class. Heres some of the the fastest E/S quallifer at the winter nationals and indy nationals. Hard to beat them old muscel cars. The only good thing about the E/S class is there only a few that run in it at national events. POS.....CLASS...INDEX.....ET......UNDER INDEX #34.......E/S.....11.95...10.989.... -0.961 #84.......E/S.... 11.95...10.926 ... -1.024
running Stock or SS is a lot of fun but its also hard work. but if you get lucky and are able to win at a national event... its a very rewarding feeling. trust me
I'm aware of just how lucky I am to get 1. Beleive me. I do plan to use it for all its worth. Should make a nice drag car.
