    He wasn't battling cancer, he had a genetic heart defect called "Brugada Syndrome". This is a shock to everyone close to him, and we will all miss him dearly.

    Both myself and my dad are very sad of Shauns death. We've known Shaun for quite awile. I am sorry to hear of his passing.

    From all of us here at CMW Motorsports our thoughts and prayers go out to Shaun's family.

    Brugada Syndrome is a genetic disorder where a chromosomal mutation causes changes in the electrical conduction system of the heart. Patients with Brugada syndrome are always at risk for an arrhythmia or sudden cardiac arrest.
