Has anyone found a solution to the fading plastic "screws" that are in our plastic cowl piece? Seems like mine turned white within a few months of washing her. I'm sure the sun has a lot to do with it. I've replaced them and they still fade out quickly. Anyone had any luck painting or dying these things? I don't have my car or else I would show you a pic.

My fix is I try to ignore the fact they are white so I am less pissed that they fade lol

    LMAO!!!

I don't think so. I'm pretty sure the Maggys and 300's have the same pieces. It's just the little plastic attachment screw/locking piece that locks the cowl cover down. Must be a harder, cheaper make of plastic than the cowl. The cowl stays nice and black and the screw turns ashy white.

Magnums and 300s have the same part and same problem. Have you tried Mother's Back to Black?

If you were to paint them, I think you would need something with some serious UV inhibitors.

    So let's see...
they turn white/fade so I'm figuring they have to be exposed to the sun... that rules out everything under the hood... ummm maybe that cowling the the windshield motor shafts stick up through?

I have no clue what you guys are talking about.

Ya... replaced them twice and they turn white again quickly. Have to try Adams idea...

It's the screw down, plastic screws used to hold the plastic cowl/wiper motor cover, down. Right below the windshield.

Yep, mine are white. lol, had to go out with a flashlight and look . But I have replacements. I bought a set of every one of those fastners when I was installing my AFR gauge (figured I'd probably break one or more of them). Then ended up not removing the thing.

I'll bet fine textured black rustoleum would match well.

My car stays in the garage, and is never parked in open sunlight for long periods of time, so I don't have that problem Drew. :D
