Well, in the sunglasses holder at least. I'll get the console put in tomorrow. I was going to put them in the headliner between the upper console and the sun roof, but being 6'3" couldn't see the readouts...Lol! The holder fully clses and locks for the "stealth" look. A little dirty, but just have to wipe up the dust.

Thanks Al... I didn't want to have the big blind spot on the pillar, plus the local Popos are really looking for any reason to pull you over for "illegal" mods...

    Told you...

    Very nice.

    1) did you test to see if the cables are going to be able to move when you close it? Instead of cable holes I went with sort of a slot in the back of the holder. Then the cables can move when you close the door. Otherwise, with the cables held firmly in place by the headliner and console, you might have issues. You may need something like a slot or a bit of a slack loop to let the door work properly.

    2) You ARE going to get a plate of smoked acrylic or something to go across the front of the door (just inside) aren't you? You cut holes in the acrylic and mount the gauges in the acrylic like you would in the dash. It gives you a finished front for the holder when it's open.

It's hard to see, but they are already in a piece of black plastic. Pain in the butt...I didn't have the correct bit so I kept having to put it on the spindle sander...check for fit...sand...check for fit. They don't give you a lot of "lip" to make the hole much bigger. Thanks for the pre-info for doing this!

Ahhh, I see now. You ran your cables differently. You're coming straight down through the box into the sunglass holder area. I can't remember where I came into the console from but my cable comes up to the back of the sunglass holder and over the back lip. Cable movement was a pain to accomodate that way for the door open and close. Looks like your way is a lot better. Unfortunately I only had clear acrylic. I was planning on swapping it for smoked but then... it didn't look really bad... and I just couldn't get inspired to tear it all apart again and now I use the DashDAQ display all the time. your plate is flush with the front?

Almost... about 1/8" away from the front. I agree...lol... don't want to have to take this thing apart too many times!
