Keep it coming. Getting interesting. We have been to Texas back in the early 90's looking. I don't do to well with humidity, being from Ohio.

Then if you're moving to FL you might as well just ship yourself there in a casket.

NM has good weather for 10 months out of the year, great cost of living, and super easy smog rules...we unfortunately have shit DA and drag strips

I had an Uncle Bob in Florida who died there about 10 years ago. He called Florida "Gods waiting room".

hal...... florida hands down!!!! tons of things to do, tracks are plentiful and open year round, beaches easily accessible, and best of all NO SMOG RULES!!! what i like even better is the fact i register my car for TWO years for under 100 bucks!!! throw in the fact that housing has come back down to earth, this is a great place to live!! i will never go back to cali thats for sure!!!

actually, the best part is that the lx community is HUGE in this state!!!

My job has had me in a quite a few towns for short periods of tme (1-6 weeks).

    You desire...

Centrally located to tons of more stuff to do.
Short trip to a lot of major cities on a good cross of freeways in all Directoins.
Ton's of car shows, cruise nights, and a couple of drag strips within short trip.
Still a good potential "barn find" area for muscle cars.
A beautiful blend of seaons, reasonable housing. Unbelievably friendly people.
    "Easy going" lifestyle.
True "God's Country" areas (relating to scenery). Great place to go "cruisin".

My vote to fit the enviroment you requested...not too much of anything extreme...but a lot.

    Knoxville, TN

After that I am going to go near Maine or New Hampshire, but I don't really you don't want it that cold. Plus.... it not great car weather up there.

"Reasonable Housing" is the only reason I don't recommend San Francisco area. Of course that depends on how far you want to live from the bay area.

After you look at Knoxville, TN....
Hate to see you move so far away.

I grew up in Michigan. It's a great place to be......FROM.

I spent 13 years in Florida. I lived in Charlotte County and the average age was.....DEAD.

I spent 2 years in Kannapolis, NC. God I miss that place. But you can't say FUCK.

I've spent the last 11 years in Chesapeake, VA. It's just like NC only you can say FUCK.

I spent some quality time in GA, SC and TN. I'd take any of those states in a heart beat.

    Indy.

    1) No vehicle inspections - including no smog checks
    2) Racing capital of the world
    3) Manufacturers of aftermarket stuff galore
    4) Police not too bad in most places
    5) Access to the best talent in the automotive world (the rear end in my race car was setup by former Top Fuel Wally winner Larry Dixon Sr.)

I could go on. Weather is about like your home state Hal - but without the police.

+1 on Knoxville... I have relatives there and see them as often as I can. If you get stressed there... you have issues a relocation change can't fix! Lol!

    Hal,

I moved to Houston from Seattle and haven't looked back too much.

Low cost of living, good weather for 9 months of the year, miserably hot & humid in the summer, cheap housing, cheap food, very reasonable police, no particular smog issues.

High insurance if you live in Harris county, much lower in surrounding areas where housing is even cheaper.

    Excellent highways.

Very cosmopolitan in Houston. ANY kind of neighborhood you want.

We spend more per capita eating out at our restaurants than anyplace in the US. Lots of good ones.
