I just bought these used 20" Nitto NT555R'S Drag Radials, I would like to use these to get together some times for my new 426 Inertia Stroker, SHR Trans and 09 LSD! I'll start with N/A and then, I'll pick up some times w/ Nitrous, and then I'll runn all of them together, that is, if I ever get everything installed and tunned. I need to know, what tire pressure should I use with these tires in the back, and in the front , I'll have Toyo's, not sure what kind, I just bought a winter set and will store my 22"s, I didn't mention, I need a break from the ride quality the 22's have to offer! (2 years ago, I had a 3 level cervical artificial disk replacement) Also, should I do a burnout in the water box, or out of it! and for how long? this will be my 2nd time at the drags! 1rst was Maple Grove this summer, I waited along w/everyone else, all day , for 2 passes! and 1 of them, 1/8 mile:cry:

Those tires get hard after a dozen passes. So I suggest you try 24 to start and heat them up good. If that doesn't work, bump them down 2psi at a shot. Make sure to check your tire pressure right after the run. Also mark your rim and tire and make certian you're not spinning the tire on the rim shich can happen if you get the pressure too low. Stop lowering the prresure when your hooking.

I would suggest you look for a set of MnH's or Hoosiers. I can't think of one guy out there that's been hapy with the Nitto's after experiencing another tire.

I bought them to run a couple passes to get some time together for my new stroker. I have the nitrous installed, not tunned yet! I'll pick up the M&H's or Hoosiers when I have the blower I bought installed. I just would like to keep track of what progress I should make with the different mods, just for my own recreation!I must be getting F'n old! Any way, thank you, sounds like a plan, what rims are availible, and what size? all I see are expensive shit, they are just for the track!

The Nitto's where 1st with something we could use wth any traction. I was on the 1st with them. I ran consistant 1.65 to 1.68 60's when everything was working right. That was a little over 500 RWHP. I don't think they will hold your car now on the track. They do work well on the street and are designed for street driving too. I run them with about 30 lbs on the street. Don't expect to do much twisty turny stuff though, you feel like your riding on ballons. I'm talking about the 18's, but the 20's are the same compound.
You will definately need the M&H's for the track. I'm going with the 305/45-18's next. You could drive some with the M&H's, but it's not recommended. The Hoosier's are track only and will require 17" wheels.

I agree, the Nittos are a good STREET/strip tire, although i would run the Nittos 18 at the track and 23-25 on street. Not very good wear life, but for quick burst, they are fun on the street in a straight line. At the track, make sure you heat the shit out of them, andthey hook pretty well most of the time.

If you want a track only, get the Hoosier set up.
