I hadn't planned on cam bearing as i had only 7k on the motor. Do you think I should?...They don't get too much hard service but I am open...now is the time as I have the block sitting there Andy stepped up and is getting my pistons at his cost. I guess I will reserve the Five Fingered Death Punch/The Way of the Fist/Taking Back Control With My Knuckles song for someone else lol. Besides, all he does in the morning is get drunk. I have a pic of HIM with a Bud Light can at 9am on Sunday morning!!! Don't let him fool you.
Well, it's not a bad thing to do, since you already have it down, now's the time...service manual says they are "non-serviceable" whatever that means...Don't forget all that metal you had in the oil...cam bearings don't like that too much...At least check em and see if they are in spec and not smeared or ate up. Camshaft Bearing Journal Specs: No.1 2.29" journal / .0015"-.003" bearing clearance No.2 2.27" journal / .0019"-.0035" bearing clearance No.3 2.26" journal / .0015"-.003" bearing clearance No.4 2.24" journal / .0019"-.0035" bearing clearance No.5 1.72" journal / .0015"-.003" bearing clearance LOL....betta watch your mouth, I represent that remark...:drunk::beerchug: Us Cajuns like the brew haha's.
"non serviceable" means they can't (or won't) be replaced or repaired. I suppose that would translates to a new short block if the dealer was to fix bad cam bearings? It's like the shift lock-out thingie. That piece is "non-serviceable". They just forklift the whole shifter assembly.
