Got sum guys on another forum swearing up and down that the Aefis II is showing a 22 RWHP gain LOL! You guys over here seem to be the technical experts, so whats your take on this claim?
If its ok i`ll tell you guys where you can read the entire tread.....i`ll wiat for an admin here to give me the ok
You got it brother! Ron i`m a dumbass when it comes to linking post, but if you go over there search mother of ALL CAI Threads and link it up. Put your boots on first, cus the shit gets real deep about page 8. I also just went to AE carbons site and they are claiming peak @ 22 and an average of 19
I guess you guys don't know that the AFEIS Stage II is made by AE Carbon. They are a vendor here. I'm very impressed with this CAI. Several pulls should be run back to back under the same conditions for a good comparison. Other than Cam's twin's, it's probably the only CAI that actually has some science and thought put into the design. One thing your probalby not getting is the fact they are flowing more air and cooler air, and because of this they can add 3% fuel. Just as you can see on Mustang's with C&L's and some others, which are capable of making more HP than say the Airaid. This is bordering on vendor bashing. Oh, and by the way. The AFEIS Stage 1 made the most HP and TQ at the last MOFO challenge which had most of the other CAI's there too. They didn't give it the prize becasue it was a prototype. The production unit with the addition of the Stage II is even better. Ask Cam about it. http://www.srtconnection.com/forums/showthread.php?t=14305
the aefis IS NOT the afe....... totally different animals. the aefis II gets these numbers for the reasons hal said. the key to their set up is really the box for the filter and how it seals it off from the engine bay and draws in the coolest air available. slick design i must say. i am not saying that everyone that bolts one on is going to make 22 hp (most will likely not go back and add fuel), but i think it is feesible considering the tweaks made to other areas. btw hal - my cf hammer was one of the top performers in that mofo you mention....... just sayin'
That's a major factor why it works, but it's the technology behind the design that the midrange gain is so good. The unit is shaped in a fashion to promote pulse harmonics which in theory does it thing and something must be working right, cause it works great. I was at MOFO and did the install on the tester cars along with a bazillion other CAI's and it topped everyone of them..............well except mine As far as bolt on, no modification CAI's go, it's the best one out there.
