Yes, but with the blower DA is less of an issue because you're compressing all of the air. Just another benefit of boost.

Well we're still under boost but not what we would be at sea level. I think we lose around 2-2.5lbs. up here.

Hey Snehal, don't forget we need to double check that tune at elevation. Please data log it today before you head out and send it to me.

I'm not sure about the Jeep PCM, but the 06 LXs don't constantly monitor atmospheric pressure. As you go up, I'd suggest shutting off the car and then restarting it if it starts to run rough.

Well... the way that works is:

The PCM constantly monitors closed loop afr and keeps it at 14.7. This adjustment ends up in your long term fuel adaptives (persistent across key cycles). It can fully adjust the long term adaptives in seconds. So as you go up it's constantly going to be adjusting leaner. When you get there you're still going to be running 14.7 in closed loop.

Open loop WOT adds a fixed amount of fuel from the power enhancement table. So when you go WOT you get (base pulse + long term adaptive value + fixed amount from PE table).

That's basically how it works. Then part throttle/boost tuning is a bit more involved.

So if you tuned (WOT) at sea level and then went to altitude you would be adding the same value from the PE table. Air is denser at sea level so you were running more fuel to get 14.7. Air is less dense at altitude so you're running less fuel to get 14.7. Let's say the PE add brought you to 12 at sea level. Adding that same amount at altitude might get you to 10.5 or 10 so you're going to be running rich at WOT. (I think Snehal would think a bit of smoke out the pipes would look cool. Better yet, fit a spark plug in the tips and maybe you could get flames :shok:)

Note: the long term adaptives do not adjust while you're in open loop. So if Snehal keeps his foot flat to the floor all the way up there he would be running REALLY rich (and probably on his way to jail).
