Yeah somehow I doubt thats the case at my local sears LOL....

I brought my battery in since the car was so god damn dead i had to keep the jumper box on to drive it or the car would die....

so i pulled it and brought the batt in and did the core exchange right there

Okay, I'm in the same boat. 48k miles and figured I would change it before i run into issues.
Never had any issues starting and I only put 2k miles in the last year. She's been sitting in the garage for long periods and still no issue with start up. The only issue I had was when I did the ext door key hole delete, of course nothing worked. I let the car sit for a couple hours and It opened, go figure.
I've been looking at batteries for a few months and have a hook up with optima. I was figuring red top, because they offer more crank. But some of you are saying to go with the rebadged sears die hard. No system yet, but in the works. So I want a battery that will handle anything I throw at it.
I'm waiting to find out on the optima, because it's a five finger discount from a friend. I know! I'm not that type of person, but free is free. I'd rather be legit, so I just want to make sure as we all do, that I get the right one.

I got the Sears Platinum last weekend. Just a little monkeying with the battery tray hold down and it fits pretty well. I might drop a scrap of 2x4 in next to the battery to improve the pull from the strap though.

    ???

Mine cinched quite well. Did you pull on the strap? :bigwink:

I'm still thinking about what to do for the bottom (maybe). I'm guessing there are a whole lot of aftermarket adaptors for just this sort of thing?

I did cinch it, but it bent the bracket a bit. I was thinking that a small spacer would keep everything square.
