Long enough to save up some money for a built one lol.... And here ill make the lame ass joke "DERR DONT DRIVE IT TILL THEN" K now that thats out of the way.... Adam gave me some advice... just looking to see if theres anything else out there that would be helpful for me.... Also, specific parts would be a help lol also (by PM if necessary) how much should i expect to lay out for an SHR or BB built transmission?
Larger cooler...I remember seeing on LXF someone built one. I think they called it Frankencooler or some stupid shit. And yeah, increase in line pressure will help the clutches live longer. But not necessarily the tranny itself. It will increase stress everywhere else during a shift.
Edit: I'm an idiot and didn't see that you already put up what I said. I'm going with a Builder Bill valve body to tide me over. A cooler is great, but the heat comes from the clutches slipping. Stop the slip and you reduce the heat too.
Whats the best way to get a hold of one of thse fancy schmancy valve bodys... How do I get in touch with BB? i knew it was coming LOL
I've sent him several PM on lxforums and he always gets right back to me. A great guy to deal with. I got my SFI flexplate from him too. Oh and by the way Steve, thanks a lot for the title of this thread. Now I have the song Stayin' Alive stuck in my head now.
If you are beating the crap out of the car (going to the track often), make sure you change the tranny fluid regularly. Also, if you have the raised shift points and rev limiter, I strongly recommend that you lower them down.
I would look at the "Electronic Shift Kit" before you make a decision. http://lxforums.com/board/showthread.php?t=176001&highlight=shift
no, you drive it over shitty bridges going through shitty construction LOL If i dont think about it now....ill be SOL on the side of the road when it "reminds" me that I should have thought of it lol lol.... SUCK IT.... Will check it out big E man.... Can you PM me pricing on your tranny or should i just hit up the website?
Paramount valvebody will help prolong the life of the tranny but will NOT "fix" an already jacked tranny. Trust me I was originally going to try that but did not make it that far. Call Bill directly (I sent ya a PM) and talk through it, he will get you in the right direction for sure
I use a B&M "stacked plate" design cooler, BB valve body and I also run Amsoil trans fluid. I think I read somewhere that the stock fluid is synthetic already but went with Amsoil as I had the engine out and replaced the torque converter anyway.
I thought this thread was going to be about the half man / half woman you have locked and ball gagged in your closet ... damnit
Steve, no doubt a SHR tranny would put the mind at ease. Between now and then the little silver box along with a Mopar TCM would be some easy insurance at the track. Also, putting some torque management back into the tune will also go a long way towards making the tranny survive. Chris
