That guy should have his license revoked...of course that would probably just make the next time worse. I'm glad everyone came out ok. Can you imagine how bad it could have been...say if there were some unseat belted kids in on the the totaled cars.
WOW this is a crazy story... i have had some people get road rage towards me before but never this crazy.... I mean i could understand if you moved to the left going too slow, but if your moving to the RIGHT lane and he is hauling butt in the slow lane... screw him! LOL my wife says i get road rage sometimes... well reverse road rage... ill slow down when someone gets on my ass with the high beams on... I even stopped once on a back road cause the guy was literally touching my bumper...
I never interfere with someone going faster than me. Obviously if they caught me, they won't be slowing me down. I truly drive defensively, but sometimes that doesn't even work as in this case. This guy wanted to wreck me and ended up taking out two other cars in the process. He made his point. If his point was "I'm an idiot with no regard to anyone else on the road". I'm just happy to have walked away. Can't imagine this same scenario on a two lane road or at highway speeds. That would've been life threatening.
1. Glad you are ok! 2. This situation sucked! The Prophet has spoken! AMEN Bro. If you felt you were in danger of serious bodily harm or death, you could've used deadly force against him. Whipping out a gun for show only will get you arrested for brandishing, assault (you don't need to actually hit someone to get assault... battery is the actual contact part), unlawful use of a deadly weapon, etc. IF you were to pull a gun, you best be ready to use it, otherwise you must not have been fearful enough to have drawn it in the first place. If you drew the weapon and aimed, etc. but didn't get a chance to fire without harming an innocent person, then that's justifiable. But to just whip out the gun to scare him... probably a bad situation... Its all in how you articulate the facts... catch my drift?!?! Because the turd could easily reverse it saying he was defending himself by going after you. If it was me (by myself) and I was armed? I'd have evaded him, then tracked him while calling the local PD. You never want to confront someone by yourself in such a situation unless there's no other option. You may have a .38 revolver... he may have an AK47. In that case: you fail miserably and will likely die. *If you're Rick and were armed with only your bare hands (both tied behind your back), it doesn't matter what the other guy had! LMAO! Most things can be considered a deadly weapon if used in an assault/battery and the object is capable of killing or severely harming another person. Screwdriver, hammer, heavy pot or pan... a car for example, is a deadly weapon if used in such a manner as to physically intimidate or harm another. This fucker should've been charged with a felony and be spending 5 years in a state pen... if your state didn't have such strict codes of procedure. Many will say a gun wouldn't have helped. I digress. All I know is that I carry either a .357 magnum or sig compact .40 everywhere I go, both when I'm working the street... because if some sorry son of a bitch turd is gonna try to make me, my family or some innocent person a victim of a violent crime, well, I'm calling their' bluff... and shame on them for even thinking it. Either way, the situation was handled as best as could be. What I recommend doing for everyone: as soon as a situation like this seems to be developing, contact the police ASAP. This will provide secure verification of the facts for possible court proceedings. Provide details to 911 (the calls are taped)... then get out of dodge or maintain a safe distance (and continue to observe) while minimizing the risk to others. Best place to head towards? The police station.
