Ok, here is the deal. My girlfriends 60ft sucks. 2.10-2.15 but her reaction time is getting better(.60). We are running the nitto 420's and my friend with the chally just put on some 305/20/40 555r nitto's. He is getting out of the hole better. Last time she ran a 12.94 at 110.5 and yesterday 13.3 at 110 on all 2 of her test and tune runs before it went to bracket racing and she got a RED LIGHT! A little trigger happy! Anyway the chally pulled out a 12.91 @ 108. She still has a good top speed but we need a better 60 ft. With the brembo's, is there anyway to put 18" rims with tires on? I am open to any suggestions for some rear set ups that will work with the brembo's. I am open to some suggestions on how to get her 60ft down. Not sure if the tires will keep her in the 12's. But here again, she DOES NOT PRE LOAD. She stabs it off the third yellow. Is not preloading giving her the bad 60ft? along with not having the proper tires? I would think 18's would lower your gearing and with DR's get you out of the hole better and faster ET's right?
ASA AR1's, Borbets, to name a few 18" rims that fit over the Brembos. I did a lot of research when I was trying to find rims to fit the 18" winter tires I had. Well, she doesn't suck as bad as some of us on our 60' times. Best I've ever done is a 2.204. Best run ever was a 13.65 @ 106.81 (this past Friday w/ DA = 2970) Note: there are 17" Borbets that will also fit, and with a good set of Mickey Thompsons (sp?), that should help a lot.
Thank you there sir. i will look into a combination. i do believe/under the impression it would be a wise choice to upgrade my axle's/hubs first.
Check out the F/S... there's a set of Notto 555r's on wheels here. Definitely a good idea on the axles...lol!
i will go look. Thank you. A quick way to keep up to the chally until i get ahold of some 18's and new axles and hubs. :thanks:
Keep in mind that (I think) the challengers have slightly beefed up axles. So if you don't have an '09 you shouldn't be thinking "they didn't have any problems...". Those 420's aren't doing you any good. I think they're worse than the stock tires? If you're not going to get half shafts then the Nitto NT05's might be a good choice. Somewhere inbetween stock and DRs and small chance of snapping an axle. Do your math. I think with 17's on the back you might be close to having to shift into 4th just before you get to the line.
Since your NA I would say go with a 17 inch ET street cheater slick. they are very short and work great for cars making under 550 NA. Now if you start making some serious power go with the M and H's Drag masters they are 28 inchs tall and kick some serious ASS!
