Check engine light came on in my car this morning, checked the code, P1188 TIP SENSOR PERFORMANCE. Found a thread that told me: Throttle inlet pressure sensor sees to much boost at partial throttle.

    Do the EDTIP mod.

take off the red line running from the Solenoid to the IC Piping. Cap off both ends where the hose connected. Easy. Take you 5 minutes.

Looked it up, and found out exactly which one to cap off, or so I think. Red #1, the middle port? Correct?

Found other guys on the same thread that still got the code when they capped off both sides (sensor and solenoid), said the just capped off the sensor side...which is the right way?

Its an overboost code. Get a Stage 1 PCM or Diablosport and you won't see it again. Or...

Are you running the stock wGA?

i think it is the stock WGA:search:. was driving home today and went to get on it...got to 100 at around 10 psi of boost, car lost power:angry: this is getting rediculious

alright... did it like the thread said to... now the car spit these codes out at me:dumb:

    P2074-MANIFOLD PRESSURE/THROTTLE POSITION CORRELATION

    - HIGH FLOW/VACUUM LEAK

    P1188 TIP SENSOR PERFORMANCE

    P1697-EMR (SRI) MILEAGE NOT STORED

    WTF????
hooked it up the other way it said to on the post. block off the sensor side, and leave the solenoid side open... so far so good, nothing has been spit out at me yet

Find someone local to help you out. Or.. Take off your intake and take good pictures of how you have your vac lines setup and I will be glad ot help you.

    Larry,
I did find this while poking around at work. I do not know how to go about testing majority of the stuff in the list below. Anyone care to chime in on this? I do not own a srt-4 personally but my car is boosted just not controlled by the ECM on boost levels.

    P1188 TIP SENSOR PERFORMANCE

When Monitored: During the engine turbocharger boost and non-boost modes.

Set Condition: Non-boost Mode: PCM detects a significant difference between TIP Sensor signal and BARO Pressure signal. Boost Mode: The TIP Sensor is unable to read correct boost level.

    POSSIBLE CAUSES:
    CHECKING FOR OTHER DTCS
    CHECKING THE HOSES AND TUBING
CHECKING THE VACUUM SUPPLY TO SURGE SOLENOID
    CONFIRM ALL SOLENOID TEST
    GOOD TRIP EQUAL TO ZERO
    SOLENOID #3 TEST
    SOLENOID TEST #1
    SOLENOID TEST #2
    SOLENOID TEST #4
    TURBOCHARGER
    WASTEGATE ACTUATOR

We have tried signing up on another SRT4 forum but we never get a confirmation email back to activate the account. Thier is one guy that lives around the corner from us but I never see him outside to grab his attention.

From the looks of the wga setup I am betting the guy jacked up the vac lines pretty seriously.

Here is a decent pic of the stock vac line setup. First thing I would do is compare this to your setup and let us know what the changes are. That way we can help you fix it alot easier instead of just throwing out ideas. The pic is missing the 3rd solenoid with the tip sensor but just look at what is connected where on that and we can help you.

alright, the green line is the same, althought it isnt green on my car.
the blue line is capped off. pink, and WGA are the same. i am going to go take pica right now.

noticed something this afternoon... it only does it in the afternoon, when i leave work. i drive in some pretty heavy traffic til i get to the loop, prob 8-9 miles. never get the chance to get out of 3rd, once in a great while i get to 4th. it comes on about half way through the stretch of road. then when i get to the interstate it will not get over 4000rpm. it gets to it and i lose power. no matter what gear i am in. i can stop and shut off the car and it is like nothing is wrong at all. got all the power i want and i can run it to red line if i want... WTF!?!? but even after i do that the light is still on.

Well I can see the reason for the tip problem. It isn't hooked up it just has a bleeder and no boost source. It should connect to the top of the solenoid closest to the front. There should also be another line that connects to a boost source typically the red line from the cold side IC pipe.

The next thing is where is the pink line going? Also did you disconnect the top ports of the solenoid? Lastly, where does the hard black line off of the throttle body tee go?

I need to go and compare it to mine but I think that is a good start.

I see the BOV is T'd off of the TB which is good, but where does that hard black line go to that goes off the pict? Anything else T'd off of it? Like what nate said, where did all the plug ins go on the solenoid? Not having the white or red line hooked up on a Stage 0 with throw that code.

is this the one you are refering to? the one that should connect to the front top soleniod?

i guess i am not seeing a pink line. the only thing pink in there i see is a pink dot on what i assume is the oil line. i disconnected the wires to get a better pic...

If I recall corrrectly it goes to the line with the green check valves in it. larry will have to verify that when it stops raining saying it is still raining.

Ok so what you are saying is the black line off of the throttle body goes to the brake booster thats good.

When I am referring to colors I am speaking of the colors in the pic I posted not the actualy ones in your car.

So lemme try again. Everything I am referring to comes from this pic. http://www.srtconnection.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=1885&d=1249410475

The middle solenoid had a line coming off the center port where does that go to?

The middle and far left all have nothing connected to the top port is that how it is or did you remove them to take the pic?

    oh i see...:dumb: lol

the middle soleniod, middle line is going to the back of the turbo. which by my looking at the drawing you are refering to is wrong. it should be on the far left middle port, not middle solenoid middle port. the middle soleniod middle port is what my WGA is hooked to, so i guess that i should change those. correct?

the top middle and far left were like that when i got the car. the only thing i have done is remove the wires to get a better pic.

I am guessing that the one that is blocked off in my car is the blue line, and it should be hooked up to the top port on the middle soleniod? why would it be blocked off to begin with?

Ok I believe you see how you need to hook up your lines.

The far left solenoid (green dot on top) should have a line from the turbo (green line in my pic) hooked to the top and the WGA hooked to the middle.

The middle solenoid should be capped off on all 3 ports since you have an after market BOV. Not because its a boost leak but just to keep crap out.

The far right solenoid you need to connect the sensor in this pic http://www.srtconnection.com/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=1884&d=1249410460(remove the white plastic piece and the cap on it hang on to the plastic piece) and run that to the center of the solenoid (red dot). Now you just need a boost source you could probably just use what used to be the blue line and connect that to the top of the solenoid. Now this may still throw a code if it does use that plastic coupler you removed earlier. It looks like a bleed off for an AGP WGA and would work beautifully as a tip mod I think. Its a .040" hole so it might be too big but its a good and simple starting point.

Just a heads up 05's are notorious for being bitchy/picky about the tip sensor so be patient.

EDIT. I believe that pic I posted is wrong the wga should be in the middle that way the solenoid can adjust the pressure behind the wga.
