Guys and gals i am new here and I am thinking of getting a 2006 chrysler 300 srt8. I have been doing some searching and the car im looking at has the crap in the coolant. It had the front rotors changed and not the back. Would this keep any of you from buying it? Also is there anything else to look for? Thanks for any advice.
The coolant crap should still be covered even though the car is out of warranty (at least I am guessing it is?) If you can get the coolant issue fixed, then I say go for it. However, you should be able to find a 300 that does not have these issues for a great price as well? Good luck on your decision and hunt. Oh, and welcome to the "C".
If its at a Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep dealer, have them fix the coolant as part of the deal. If not, I'd call one and make sure that its covered. Or if you're handy you can do it yourself. Its just a flush and a new bottle ($40-50).
Thanks for the responses. the car only has 24xxx miles on it. The sub in the back does not work either. They said they would fix all issues before the sale.
hell, tell them to put the slotted rotors on the rear as well. hehe If they fix all the issues, then get that badass sled.
I think they have 2 different flush procedures. One is just drain and fill. The other is something like a power back flush. I vaguely remember the original memo from Chrysler galactic service HQ to the dealers specifically requiring the second procedure. The rapid response doesn't say that though.
Heck, have them put slotted rotors front and back..there was a TSB for 06 SRT8s but limited to 18,000 miles.....if they wont then talk to the service mgr about contacting the district rep.....my dealer got them to agree to supply the parts but not labor on an 06 300 with over 20K miles...
dork. He already stated the slotted rotors are on the front already. lol Lay off the moonshine, Larry. hahahahahahahaha
Yeah, I got my flush done and it came back. But no performance issues, just looks gross. With the slotted rotors, I just missed the cut off of 12k they told me, but I brought the service department a TON of business, so I got the rotors for practically free including install. So yeah, they say they'll fix all that, take it. You'll be paying half what a lot of folks paid for them new
Hey...I resemble that remark...it is Saturday night...go to church and confession tomorrow and all is good again..LOL..........BTW you prick..he said the front rotors had been changed...didnt say anything about slotted..:thongue2:....LOL..
