That's what mine did when the motor was new. Had large surges, much larger than your getting, put it grear and it would stall. Would have to put it up against the converter to keep it running. I have a very large cam. Between Scott working on the tune and the adaptives, it finally worked itself out.
fill your washer fluid bottle thats you problem just thought you might need a laugh lol what is your idle set at it may be to low until you get it tuned
Idle is set at as high as Diablo will allow.. k filled the washer bottle still didnt work.YOUR FIRED!!!!:ilovesrtc:
Scott, out of curiousity, can you keep it running if you wanted to by keeping your foot on the gas pedal?
so i've never had to deal with an LX but heres my input. the car is obviously dying upon the switch to closed loop/idle. is your cam a wild enough grind to cause timing to retard/advance enough for it not to run? do you have a monitor for a/f and knock/timing? if so what are their readings? Have you checked the IAC? I've had plenty of those go bad on me.
like i said to you on the phone buddy, i think the motor is fine. i am leaning towards two thoughts.... cam big enough to cause some adaptive/tune issues. OR something along the lines of what kyle fought with his O2 issues. as it has been said, seems like the issue starts from closed / open loop switch. all i know is this better be fixed by shindig or else........... or else i will have nobody to spoon with in the room!!!! :shifty: dahahahahahahahahaha
Nnce it gets to open loop or so it seems that why.. Cam was installed in another car before mine.According to the Vendor.Yes I have a A/F guage,You didnt watch the video did you.
Has your tuner be able to help you at all or is he away this weekend at the nationals? I assume Johan is working with you.
Did you every check out the O2's...I read elsewhere you didn't use extensions on one side...check the spades and be sure they are COMPLETELY seated into the back of the connector base...even if they were when you connected them, the vibration of the motor may have pulled it out a smidge...and that's all it takes, about 2mm and your screwed. Inspect both sides very well...get in there with a light UP CLOSE... I also read where you thought my car didn't idle at all when I had my problem...not the case...my car acted EXACTLY like yours...Down to the metal to metal sound when it dies....it would idle and then surge then kill...i meant it wouldn't idle AGAIN until another cold start...I couldn't put it in gear at all...if I tried, it killed instantly. If nothing else, log your o2 sensor voltage, you should see if they are operating correctly by that. If it's not O2 related, i'll be very surprised.
Welp,Good news and bad news.Bad news.its not the tune. Johan played around with it and nothng he did made any changes.02s were working properly etc etc,.It took 110ftpds to turn my engine over when at operating temp.As the car cooled it took less and less torque to turn it over. Luckily RTROID showed up and we went running over to his car .While still hot about 190* or so it took only 65 ft pds to turn his motor over.Definite problem there.Andy from PPP was one the phone the whole time. After our diagnosis Andy agreed it was time to pull the motor,I was a little upset and he assured me it would be takin care of.The next step will be taking the car over to the west coast to Fixer Motorsports to have the engine removed and the short block sent back to the builder. I would like to thank everyone for there ideas and support,I would especially like to thank Dave from Fixer motorsports for driving 2 hrs and stopping by to help figure this thing out.I would also like to thank Johan from Diablosport for making a house call to help me out as well. I will start a new thread when things start to get rolling and what not. Thanks again I appreciate the input from all of you more then you know.. FOr the time being my new screen name will be 1norunning4dr
