I'm going to be getting an AGP delta 44 turbo kit in a month and I plan on running between 350 and 400whp. My engine is stock and has 38,000 miles on it, will it be ok to do this and how long do you think it could last with a good tune? I plan to rebuild the bottom end eventually but I don't want to blow my stock motor so I'm kinda worried if I should get this turbo or not.
OK cool i was going to keep the boost at 20lbs or less and I plan on getting the car dyno tuned but I need to find a good dyno shop around me that knows what they are doing with srt4's. I was going to be installing the turbo kit myself at the shop I work at to save some money, but after I install the kit with larger fuel pump and injectors how do I set it up so its drivable to get to the dyno shop? I am getting a diablosport, can I just temporarily set it up with that so its good enough to just drive till i get it to a dyno?
If you're getting an AGP kit then get everything from AGP, including the Diablo, and they'll sell you a tune that will be set up pretty nicely for your car. They do e-mail tunes, which while they're not as good as a dyno and street tune, are still better than canned tunes and often with a good tuner like AGP has, sometimes better than a mediocre dyno tune. If you're running safe a/f and not boosting upper 20's you should be able to last as long as you want, 100k miles isn't hard to imagine.
With a good tune you will be ok for a while. But with you trying to push 350-400whp you are going to going past what the stock oil system can handle. It will handle it for a little while but the oil pump can not take that. The gears will break and lock up the bottom end. We do offer our upgraded DCR Complete oil system upgrade that will allow you to push 1000+hp through the oil system. With adding this system you will be able to run that turbo for as long as you want to on the stock bottom end as long as you dont go past 500hp then you will need to upgrade the piston & rods at that point. The complete oil system we offer is $575.00 + shipping and you can install it yourself. It is about a 6 hour job. If you have any questions just let me know. Thanks, Nubs @ DCR
hahaha i wasn't saying solid as in solid tech i was saying solid as in sound, dependable, well done etc.
