Rained all day but cleared in time for a late dash out to PBIR. Edge 3200 torque converter in the car. First few runs the tranny felt like it needed to relearn stuff or something--it was acting wierd. Then it straightened up and performed well. NAG1 Mystery Dance, huh? T/C worked a lot better than the last one. New belt was slipping though, cuz I was only making 9-10 lbs. of boost (according to my boost gauge). Here's my best run of the evening (against a S/C Nitrous Vette who blew up before the 1/8th): That's a new PB, but clearly the car wasn't making full power. More work on the 8-rib. Maybe I need to make a ten-rib fit? We'll see. Some film noir stills: Video from the stands... Video from (muted) in-car: If I get that thing making all 18.7 psi of boost at the track, it should help on the far end and improve things a bit. That's what test and tune is for, huh? Enjoy, fellas. :usflag:
Way cool Lou. Thanks for sharing. I probably won't make it to the track until late this year. Should be making around 725 to 750.
Awesome, Lou. haha I think you scared the poop out of the Vette when you out launched him, so he used the excuse of blowing up. haha That Maggy is a true MONSTER.
friggin awesome stuff lou!!! you are definately the fastest guy in florida!!!! can't wait to see this beast in person since the big make over!! are you heading up to the shin dig on thursday with scott and i, like last year???
Yep, hauling it up to Perry on Thursday with my Ford F-250 PowerStroke! You guys can tag along if you can keep up.
Leg: I'd be pleased to meet you guys at Longhorn Thursday night and treat you to a nice dinner--might as well make it a tradition. NYC: I did the N2O thing already (two-stage 550 shot on a 420 stroker, inlet fogger + direct port with six solenoids, dedicated fuel & two 15 lb. bottles). This time it's boost only. No meth, no juice. Just a well-built motor, some race gas, a good blower, a good fuel system, a great tune and straightforward power.
lou - i was just kidding.... but if you want to make it a tradition, i am all for it!!! hahahahahaha look forward to seeing you then and "sharing" dinner with you and many others!!!
Damn Lou, that is completely insane for such little boost. I know how hard it can be working out all the little nagging details on a car performing at that level. I can't wait to see it with the wick turned WAY WAY up. Keep it going in the right direction bud. Chris
Thanks, Chris. It's hard to think of you as an arch nemesis if you keep on being so nice. Dang it! :thanks:
Well, how does that saying go....... Keep your friends close and your enemies....err competition closer :bigwink::bigwink::bigwink: Seriously this year has been great actually meeting up, racing and of course bullshitting with the very guys one would typically think of as their "nemesis". It is so much better then all that BS tension that use to be there between the dudes running gear from this vendor or that vendor. Hmmmm, could that just be us evolving as a community I wonder???? There...take that
I just think it's great that a gaggle of staion wagons are going to be lined up together and blasting down the track with great haste and drama. It ought to be a worthy sight. I hope things gel and we get to do that.
