We took a couple days vacation and drove from FL to IL this past weekend to visit my family and today are driving from IL to TN for the "Z" Gatty event which starts tomorrow. We left Kris' car with a friend from one of the forums, so we're picking that up tonight and then will drive to Gatty afterwards. We will have Kris' SRT8 Charger, plus the BMC Excursion and my newly acquired '49 Dodge, which we're towing. The '49 is a family car my grandfather owned and I just got it from my grandmother while in IL. I wanted to make a thread of our travels to Gatty, at the 2-days of the event and all the pics from the mountain cruise, car show and all the fun! So stay tuned to this thread for more!! We ran across some old Fords (except 1, ha ha) heading to Indy for a hot rod show. These were sweet!! Another stop, mostly for food, but topped off on gas, too! We got 14 mpg not towing on the way up, and around 11 towing, so not too bad with the V-10 engine! Saw a brand new black Camaro SS ... super sweet!!! This one came out exceptionally well for the iPhone camera!!
We ran across some more cars headed to the hot rod show in Indy, and I had to talk to them and take pics of their rides. Pretty cool cars!! Not yet ... but some day!! 230ci flathead 6 for now. All original.
Nice pics! I noticed all the highway shots are rear then front taken from the left lane. You'd probably get better gas mileage if you didn't pass every single car on the highway! :grin:
