I installed a new air breather in place of the hose going to the CAI with my new CF Airhammer. Its been making a very high pitched noise while the motor is running that's driving me crazy. If I push on it a certain way the noise will stop. I can move the filter element around with my hand while the rubber portion that goes over the breather tube stays secure. Do you guys think this breather is defective or does anyone else's make noise. I'm guessing its sucking air around the rubber to filter area. What ya guys think? Should I go get another one or pretend its a blower!!!LOL
Can you take a pic of this "rubber element" that moves with your hand? or describe it better? That doesn't sound good... you don't want leaks -- dust and everything. You could get a Jet TB spacer. That should make a louder whine and you won't hear the CAI whine.
The breather filter is shown in the picture. The rubber portion fits over the breather tube and doesn't move at all, especially since its clamped securely. The filter itself is what can be moved by hand...basically just spins around. I think that's where the issue is...between the rubber and where it goes into the back if the chrome portion of the filter element. I'll try pushing it further onto the breather tube and see if that does it. Maybe the metal breather tube itself needs to be partially inside of the filter element.
Yup just push it on a little more and tightin her down.BTW.Take that little filter off put a screw driver in the fitting and rotate it counter clock wise to the 3 oclock postion. LMAO^^
