Have any of you tried or heard about this? I just talked to a detailer about this and he said the stuff works really good. In the link below there is a video demo of a Ferrari with 200 miles on it being washed and a Ford GT that was just washed using this method. http://www.optimumcarcare.com/onrwns.htm?li=2 Optimum No Rinse & Wash & Shine A Green Eco Friendly Car Wash 32 oz / 1 Gallon Up until now, people have had no choice but to use car wash shampoos that are washed into the storm drains and into our drinking waters. No More! We offer the only alternative product that cleans and protects your vehicle and protects the environment too. It will also reduce the water usage to a fraction of a conventional car wash. No Rinse & Wash & Shine is the most technologically advanced car wash system that only requires 1-2 gallons of water to wash the entire car. No Rinse Wash & Shine does not require rinsing since there are no soapy surfactants to wash off into the storm drains. This unique product contains substantive polymers which bond to the paint and protect it during the wash. Therefore, No Rinse Wash & Shine offers greater protection and lubricity than conventional car washes leaving a sleek & glossy finish behind afterwards. The wastewater in the bucket can be easily disposed of into a sink, where it will be treated! Additional benefits are faster washes, ability to wash anywhere at anytime including washing inside the garage during the cold months, no messy water runoffs, and greater looking car finishes. These are some of the reasons No Rinse Wash & Shine is being used by many professional detailers across the country. No Rinse & Wash & Shine can also be used to wash motor homes, motorcycles, boats, and planes. Directions: Add 2 cap fulls ( 1 oz. ) of No Rinse & Wash & Shine to 1-2 gallons of water in the wash bucket. Soak Microfiber Towel in the wash bucket. Wash one car panel. Soak the towel in the wash bucket again and do another panel till the entire vehicle is washed. Use a fresh Microfiber Towel to dry the car.
errr, ummm, where do you think all the dust dirt and grit is going? I'm kind of thinking Momo might just get his detailing business off the ground. You can do the no-fuss wash and Jason can follow up with the paint correction. (I didn't sound skeptical did I?)
I watched the video... He takes a car with a layer of dust and dirt on it and wipes it directly with a wet sponge. Notice that he does not shine the halogens on it immediately after that. The conventional method is to rinse, soak, foam your car first. Then spray it off. Then wash it with something that's going to come in contact with it. The surficants in the car wash will loosen and suspend the big stuff. Hopefully rinsing it after will remove a lot of it. Then you get the rest by washing with a sponge or microfiber mitt or something like that. If you skip the first part and hit it directly with a wet sponge then... where do you think all the dust, dirt and grit is going? I don't think it's all getting lifted immediately into the microfiber. If they are using polymers that bond with the paint I'd want to know if it's compatible with the polymers that Zaino is using (I don't know how polymers that bond work? Do they just bond over anything that's there? or would they remove the Zaino?). I'd want to wait for Richie Carbone to weigh in on this one first.
Hey Bud try this stuff. http://www.chemicalguys.com/Waterless_Car_Wash_p/wac_107.htm Chemical Guys are the manufacturers, and they are selling it in a plain wrapper on this site, but when it arrives it will be a different color and called One. Somewhere there's a glitzy web site dedicated to it, and they sell it for more money there, but this is the cheap way to get hold of it. I bought the gallon size that I linked above but they also sell 16 oz. The stuff is damn near a full on wax job. What I do is go to the jet wash and blast the car, then go over it with this stuff. But I've also done like they show on the demo videos and done it waterless. Its all I use nowadays.
these waterless cleaners dont clean in between the metal at all. everything remains dusty and dirty. every summer it seems like there is a new "waterless" car wash.
wow rick....... whatever the reason, it brings a tear to my eye to see you hanging out in the detail section talking about cleaning your car!!! lol
Yep, I figure I'm not going to be able to race it for at least a year and a half. So, I might as well touch her up a bit. That reminds me....I need to find Richie Carbon's thread on Adam's Brilliant Spray Glaze. I used it today on my car and it is great.
